I wouldn't be too sad with that collection Tony, some stunning watches there!
*Update on page 3*
Yesterday was a sad one for me, as in the face of spiralling house refurb costs I accepted an offer for my Nautilus that was too good to turn down. I thought I'd mark the occasion with an update of what's left, which I've tried to capture in what amounts to a single image (and there are some larger and higher resolution photos here). Feel free to add your own.
1st row:
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Mil-Spec, Omega Seamaster 60th Anniversary, Rolex Submariner "Hulk", Glashutte Original Senator Perpetual Calendar
2nd row:
Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph, Rolex Submariner 5513 (1981 Mk IV Maxi), Dornbluth Kal 0.40, Patek Philippe Aquanaut
3rd row:
Omega SM300 (LWC), Grand Seiko 130th Anniversary, Omega Speedmaster 60th Anniversary, Zenith Chronomaster Moonphase
4th row:
Breitling Navitimer 806 (1966), Jeager LeCoultre K880 (1960 birth year), Panerai PAM512, Breitling Aerospace Night Mission
Despite the loss mentioned above it's still a lovely collection, and I've remained true to my objective set last year to stay between 34-42mm.
Right, let's see your one shot collection photos then...
I wouldn't be too sad with that collection Tony, some stunning watches there!
Not too shabby at all! The Grand Seiko would be my pick of the bunch.
I thought your aim was to stay between 36-40mm? Have I remembered that wrong or has there been 'mission creep'?
Lovely collection Tony.
And anyway, everyone knows the Aquanaut is a nicer watch!
That's not to shabby at all, Tony. I've been down to 4 for almost 2 years now and 3 have been in storage for most of that time - Less is more ;)
Beautiful Mil-Spec... a varied and tasteful collection for sure
Stunning Tony, such variety and mix - even with the self imposed size limitations. Well done!
Yeah, it does soften the blow
No, it was 42mm, as I had a couple (Panerai and breitling) that size that I wouldn't sell
I always preferred the Aquanaut of thee two, actually!
Thanks, and the Mil-Spec certainly is lovely.
Cheers!
Shame about the (one) Patek, but enough left to console.
It's just a matter of time...
Need to turn the big light on. Even if you're going for a low-key look you still want to have some areas of actual full brightness.
Can't begin to rival that. But like you, need a bit of extra cash...to buy a beach hut....mainly for the grandkids to use. So, one of these is going in the next hour. Such is life.
Grand Seiko 253, Glashuite Original Senator Excellence, White gold Daytona;
Bottom row: Rolex Datejust, Omega MD 10m'Drs Watch', IWC F A Jones.

The beach hut will be on the West Sussex coast, hopefully around Wittering. They're not cheap for a wooden hut on which you have to pay a large ground rent every year. But as my partner said, they're better value than a watch. Well, depends......
I find it interesting looking at what you have had as real 'keepers' over the years. Are the 5513 and the GO the ones that have truly stood the test of time? (I'm still in total lust with that GO....)
Sry for poor pic but here's mine

Well spotted - I've had both of those for about 5 years, and intend that they're in the watch box when I peg it. There is a kind of hierarchy for the others, but they don't have the same protected status as the two you mentioned (save, perhaps, for the Aquanaut, which I really love).
A great collection of 3 that would be in their own right! I don't wear my own PML XL much, but every time i put it one it brings a smile to my face. I'd love to try an Aquanaut (always preferred it to the Nautilus) but it'd mean parting with my minty 116520 which I loathe to do. Doubt I'd be able to get one again at any sensible pricing. Guess more serious saving required!
Lovely collection and a great position to be in to be able to fund things through the sale of a Watch and still have such a fantastic collection!

A very tasteful and somehow cohesive collection - very impressively done! The size limit is right up my street too.
Yes, that would be a touch one - it would sit beautifully amongst the other two, though, in a three watch collection
Thank you, and yes, I don't take that for granted. I've always said to Bea that watches are secondary to life needs, so felt I had to walk the walk on this occasion!
Thanks mate!
My wrist is about 6.75" and whilst I'm aware that lug to lug distance can also be a defining factor the size range generally works well for me. I certainly wouldn't want to go below 34mm, but in truth there are lots of watches over 42mm that I can wear comfortably. I'm just not allowing myself to stray into that territory.
Lovely collection Tony and I am sure you will get just as much enjoyment with the house improvements as you did from the Patek.
Sorry this is the best one I have at the moment and I have add a few since the pic was made.
Great collection !

There are more than these but this is my single picture of my Breitling collection

Very nice collection. I love the omega 's and the Jeager as a nice dress watch.

I’ve tried but I fear my photography skills will never come close to yours Tony.
I guess you’re not the best person to contribute to suggestions for watch boxes. Though it does seem effective and the use of clear plastic bags technically makes it a display case :-)

Tony, my pick is the Vachron, looks great!

I’m no photographer, and I think my choices could be seen as “unimaginative”, but I rather like them. Spot the quartz showing the correct time

So when's the Aerospace going on SC then, Tony?
...it's 43mm!
Thank you!
Cheers - the JLC is my birth year so extra-special!
I can actually see a marked improvement ;)
Yes, that one's an absolute beauty.
Cheers Louis!
I'm liking the tripod a lot, although I now have four!!! The Aquanaut is... well, perfect.
Ross - shhhhh!!! It's a Night Mission - that's meant to be stealthy!
I have to say that the bar has been set rather high.
Great collection.

''Grand Seiko 130th Anniversary.'' Something a bit wonky there, I think.
Tony why don't you call Sarah Beeny and let her do it for free?
Thanks Jeremy - hope all's well.
Not at all - it was a LE to mark Seiko's 130th birthday.

Damn!!!
Doesn’t seem that long ago when your collection included the likes of a Sinn U1, CWC diver and some classic vintage Seikos, including a Tuna and Bullhead chrono. It has definitely evolved over the years. You’ve had that gorgeous 5513 for a good while now and it deserves to be the mainstay of any collection. That vintage JLC is also pretty stunning.
Love the moonphase cutout on the Glashutte Senator... something we don’t see enough of :)
