Best high street jewellers to buy an expensive watch from ?

Goldsmiths are excluded because I’ve had nothing but problems with them
Anyone got any ideas on any other jewellers with great reviews? HL brown and bell brothers has got amaizng reviews so might pop in there 😜

Depends on what brands you fancy; but local, family owned, jewellers are often best. I wouldn't buy from any of the chains.

You say an expensive watch, it is all relative I suppose but I would recommend Watches of Switzerland in Knightsbridge.
I went in there to just look and told the staff there this. They treated me as a valued customer nonetheless and spent the time with me as though I was a repeat customer. My experience that day would lead me there should I be looking to buy.
Not sure where you live but a day out in London is always good.

Yes, but I'm not telling as I don't like to share or play well with others

Well unless you want to drive miles it'll be the jeweller who holds the franchise for the watch you want locally.

Or you can buy from the internet and miss out on all the good feeling you get from buying the watch from a bricks and mortar outlet.

As a Patek lover (if not yet an owner) then I'd recommend cultivating a relationship with an AD who stocks Patek's.

Only ever great dealings with Mallory in Bath. Highly recommended.

I agree with this and can also suggest Johnsons in Nuneaton

Note that virtually all of these recommendations are family businesses.

Bought Rolex and Omega from them. Very competitive on price plus good customer support - even when the manufacturer lets them down!

I recommend Prestons of Wilmslow, which used to be Cottrills.
I have bought many Panerai, Zenith and Rolex from them over the years.

Great service, cold beers and a fantastic aquarium.

Don’t know the OP’s location but can highly recommend David M Robinson (Canary Wharf), Mappin & Webb (Regent Street) and if Omega, their boutique on Sloane Street. All based on my personal experiences of course ... others’ might differ.

I would highly recommend both Jamieson & Carry and Finnies in Aberdeen.

But if you don’t live in the northeast of Scotland, I have been happy with the customer service at local branches of Beaverbrooks and Chisholm Hunter. Although that I imagine that would vary from store to store.

While I have never bought from them, I have felt welcome at Watches of Switzerland.

    Try Goldsmiths in Birmingham Bullring.

Ask for Mr. Bowtell and say that you would like to take advantage of his special discount arrangement.

Bootles. They only sell Patek and other expensive trinkets. Staff very friendly.

George Pragnell for me also. Even though I live in Bournemouth at least it’s a professional and friendly AD. Definitely makes handing over 6k plus a little easier! 🙈
