I actually prefer that look to the steel bezel
I treated my 2255.50 Electric Blue to one of Cousins’ new generic Seamaster bezel inserts. I think it looks pretty good. I’m almost certain Omega never made a 2254.50 in blue...

It's just a matter of time...
Yeah me too. Big improvement
Agreed. I have often wondered why they didn’t offer a blue bezel to match the blue dial, when they did offer a matching bezel for the black dial

That does look rather good. I may not have sold mine if I'd considered that combo.
That really is nice. Love the colour enjoy.

How did you remove the bezel? I’ve tried before with a tool form cousins and it didn’t budge
IMG_0666.JPG I think this is the coolest Omega

That looks very nice
Sorry to say looks a bit off to me. Much prefer the original spec.
A carefully placed disposable scalpel blade inserted in the gap in between lugs (as to not damage the case shoulders l) followed by gentle manipulation with a case knife.
I must admit I was weary of doing it myself as I’d read that the classic SMP bezels were hard to shift without warping, but this one came off just fine.

I’ve been looking at the Cousins aftermarket inserts
for my 2254 that has some scratches.
The blue one looks pretty decent fit and quality.
I may try this myself. (with a black one obvs)
That looks much better than the steel bezel veesion IMHO.

I have recently purchased a 2254.50 and it is a cracking watch.
I really want to upgrade the dial to the 2530.50 (commonly known as non AC). Applied logo and indices per the PO style.
Will see !
That looks loads better, the main reason i sold my 2255.80 was the fact the bezel picked up scratches easy

From my limited experience the Cousins inserts are very good. This one snapped straight in without glue and the dark blue matches the Electric Blue dial very nicely indeed - I’ll try and get some better pics tomorrow if I get a spare minute. Only the pearl looks a bit naff, but I can live with it.
Omega are a bit greedy charging £220+ for a full replacement bezel and insert IMO. Even Rolex make life easier by supplying bezel inserts as a stand-alone purchase.

I like the watch, even though I’m not a fan of modifications this one looks right to me.
As for the quality of the Cousins inserts, I tried one a couple of years back and I wasn’t impressed. The colour was way off, and the painted finish looked as if it would chip and scrape off easily. The only good thing was the fit, it fitted well.
I returned the watch to the owner with his original bezel ( which was very badly faded), I’d serviced and refinished the watch but I was so unimpressed with the bezel insert I let him have it for free. Possibly the quality has improved, there’s certainly demand for an alternative to being fleeced by Omega for the original.

Thank you for that input PJ and Paul.
Paul, you and I have discussed these recently.
Perhaps QC has been improved.
May be worth a punt to confirm.
PJ’s description of removal sounds straightforward with care !
You clearly didn’t realise that the polished 2255 bezel insert takes very well to a polish with a Cape Cod cloth and comes up perfect. It took me a few years to figure this out but now my 2255 looks mint. This is a big advantage the 2255/2265 has over the other models with coloured anodised inserts

+1.......I’ve refinished a few of these inserts and they do restore nicely. Re-doing the paint is the hatdest part.
Once the insertsremoved it can be refinished easily. Wet and dry paper around a small hatdwood block removes the damage, then repolish and repaint. If the painted numerals are all OK it’s possible to do this without damaging them but it requires care.

I like the colour combo but I am not a fan of the bezel lume pip, looks a little like something you would see on a bad fake :-(

I think that looks rather smart.
I have a dilemma as I have a blue "bond" seamaster and the bezel is faded slightly (in a good way). But I lost the pearl. It is annoying and I don't want to replace the whole bezel as I like the original, but I'd like the pearl replaced.
Would it be feasible to buy one of those inserts and transfer the pearl from the replacement bezel to the original? Anyone know if it'll fit?
How is the pearl held in the insert??
Very nice indeed.
With the steel bezel that is probably my least favourite seamaster, but with the blue it becomes my favourite.
I absolutely agree - the pearl let’s things down somewhat. But then for twelve quid you can’t grumble too much I guess.
Funnily enough I’ve somehow ended up with an old spare 2531.80 bezel with a faded insert in the watch box. If I get a spare half hour over the weekend (a chance would be a fine thing!) I might try and swap in the OEM pearl to the Cousins insert.
That being said, I still think Omega missed a trick not releasing this combo. The dark blue bezel makes for a nice change and really makes the dial pop
