    Rolex dial query

Wondered what the sign on the dial represented ? I wondered Opec... but can’t find the signage anywhere.
The back of the watch has engraved ‘Rig of the year 1979’

Think its the Pool Intairdril Logo?

Seen it on a couple other Air Kings in the past.

    Some more info here:

I'd say it seems odd to have the logo at the 9 o'clock position, most of them online have the logo at the standard 6 o'clock. For all intents and purposes they seem quite rare so perhaps its a good pick up?

Unless you have a personal link to the company detailed it seems an odd purchase to me, a bit like buying a second hand watch with a dedication engraved on the back.

If I worked for the company I would be proud to wear it but other than that too weird for me. However if you like it , crack on.
