    Crafter Blue Straps

Just received a couple of these straps, one for the SRP Seiko Turtle divers in blue, and one for the Seiko Sumo in black.
The strap for the Turtle doesn't appear to take fat spring bars and was supplied with bars that fit the strap, seems a bit strange to make a strap that is dedicated to a dive watch which then requires alternative spring bars.

To add the the confusion, the strap for the Sumo is supplied with fat bars, and is 15mm shorter than the strap for the Turtle, I have a 7.5" ish wrist and it is just about the right length, anyone with a larger wrist might find the keeper a bit useless.

That’s an interesting finding. I’ve been considering a blue Crafter Blue for my Pepsi bezel Turtle. Considering the price, the spring bar issue is a real weakness.

Bought one for a Sumo, too short and it kept ’popping’ of the watch head.
    Not impressed.

What is Crafter Blue’s view? Should the Seiko spring bars fit? It seems like a significant oversight if not.

Probably not what you want to be doing with an expensive watch strap, but I’m wondering if you could use a small drill bit, rotate it by hand to scrape out a little of the material and adapt it to fit the fat spring bars?

I have messaged them regarding the reason for the smaller bars, as you say it's the most I have forked out on a strap, not good if you have to start modifying it, maybe a bit of silicone grease might help them in, I used this method to get the supplied fat bars into the Sumo strap as they were a bit snug.

I’ve got one for my MM300 - tried it but don’t like that I have to use my bracelet clasp.

Other than that - it works ok & looks good - anyone bought an additional clasp as a work around ?

...if so which one works well ?

I was thinking about a blue strap myself for my turtle and on reading this I'll give them a miss I think

    Yes.
ISTR similar stories and a claim that this was an early batch issue that was rectified along the way. Not sure if that’s true or not. I never received any offer of exchange, nor did I request a return, was just dissapointed with the experience (and even if it had been secure it was just too short for my wrist).

The Crafter Blue works OK on my Sumo with the supplied fat spring bars, I have 7 inch wrist.

I bought another MM300 clasp identical to that used on the bracelet as I actually like that clasp. I have also seen the strap code clasps used.

Looks like you wear your watch higher up the wrist than me, mine is on the 5th notch, leaves about 10mm poking out of the end of the keeper, when the keeper is butt up to the clasp.

Can't see how this could be classed as a strap for a diver, on the plus side it wears well and looks great.

I hadn't realised you had to use the OEM clap.
If it helps I'm not a lover of MM OEM claps, I changed mine for one off an early monster bracelet and it fits perfectly on the MM bracelet.

You can get a clasp with the mm300 crafter blue. It's pretty good.

I've looked at these again and again and I can't get past the integrated look making it look a bit cheap.... Like something you'd get on a fashion digital watch.

I’ve got one for my Blumo and think it looks great. They do 25% off sales on a fairly regular basis so worth holding out.

    I love this place...

Based on the above I posted a WTB & was offered a minty monster clasp

It's a perfect match - & better than the MM300 clasp IMHO as it has less of a gap by the clasp

MM300 is all set for my summer hols now

Now that looks the dogs! I've spent too much this month on watches and straps, but a Craftrer Blue for my MM300 will be next on the list.

Does the Crafter Blue for the MM take fat spring bars? any chance of a pic of the strap / clasp, thanks.

Thanks. Yes - the standard fat spring bars from the bracelet are a good fit.

    Here’s the clasp
