The watch featured was certainly made by Blancpain John but look who now owns the trademark in the USA!

I have seen the brand before. Frankly I think it's a fugly mish mash of styles.

Interesting ownership. I am sure someone will love the fugly remakes if/when they appear

They wouldn't necessarily make a watch that looks like that ... Interesting tho. We better watch (boom-boom) that space.

The TR is the holy grail of US military watches... Not sure whether that is based on technology, quality, style or scarcity. My hunch is the latter, but I am no expert at all.

I have no problem with a dead trademark being picked up by a decent horologist... better than to have some East Asian company flogging $ 9.99 watches with that name and thereby destroying the brand. Goes for Precista as well as for TR.

    Love that watch!

Gee, I don't find it ugly at all... Would seriously consider buying a remake of it, since the $9,000 thing isn't happening!

    Speaking of which...

Has anybody done a review of the new Type 48, etc. from Bill Yao? I would really like to know how they stack up against the Speedbird!
