Good idea
EOS
OX(ZRX)
Not sure how successful this thread might be but thought it could be a useful place to share some of smaller coins with big potential.
- I’m currently holding PoSW (bought at 0.29$) and will continue to hold though 2018
- I’m waiting to see which exchange Wanchain lands on at the end of the month and will also be holding this one long term and probably well into 2019.
Anybody else got there eye on something under the radar?
Don't hold any EOS myself but have heard it's on to watch this year...
Great idea, thanks for starting the thread.
I'm mostly in the larger cap coins but a friend (who has been very helpful with advice so far..) has recommended SALT and REQ.
Great idea.
Recently gotten into ZRX in a small way. Would be interested to hear about others.
Out of interest, what number of coins do people typically have as part of their portfolio? Also, are they for trading into something like BTC or trading or holding - or a combination of all of these? I suppose it would also be interesting to hear what number of coins (as in actual units of X) people look to buy or build up to.
Cheers

My most successful one recently was enjin, aims to provide in game purchasing which is a surprisingly big market. It's trebled in the last few weeks, of course it may never move again so ymnv!
I've bought quite a few recently to try and spread my risk. I've been using coincheckup.com for research they rate every coin and it has filters to help narrow your search (e.g. filter by exchanges you have accounts on)
So if Small cap is say less than £1bn (which on todays valuations excludes the Top 40 coins) then I have:
Monetha
Spankchain - porn industry
Bread
AirSwap
FunFair - casino's
Ark
Ox
I also bought VeChain a week ago because it was just below £1bn - a strategy seems to be buy caps that are just below £1bn because when they cross that point they fall into CoinMarketCap's top level filter so come to wider attention. I stupidly sold 50% of my holding at 2.30pm yesterday to spread across a couple of other coins at about 3pm it rocketed 50% in a hour!...AARgh.
Haven't seen coincheckup.com before - looks pretty useful :) Thanks!
Has anyone heard of Wanchain or managed to buy into the ICO? I'm no expert but the fundamentals seem very solid.
What trading platforms are people using for the lesser known/alt coins?
I already have Coinbase and etoro for the more mainstream stuff.
I use Kucion and Binance
Binance & Bitfinex
Happy to share a referral link if you want to use it:

And for anyone that wants to follow/copy I'm ViperStripes on etoro too.
EOS Tokens will convert from being on the Ethereum Network and migrate onto the EOS Network
there has been massive investment behind the scenes on the run up to this occurence.
seems to be doing ok today -- but who knows tomorrow hahaha

Where are you guys buying 0x from?
I must have got lucky because I managed to sign up on my first attempt last night.
Now all I need to do is research about buying bitcoin and I guess setting up an online wallet. I'm doing my own research but any advice or pointers would be welcomed.
Binance is a crypto only exchange, so you will have to buy bitcoin elsewhere and then transfer it in.
What wallet you use rather depends on which coins you are buying and (to a degree) at what value.
You can leave the coins on the exchange, but then you are wholly at the mercy of the exchange - if it is hacked or fails in some way you will lose your money. If the coin in question forks you will be dependent upon the exchange to support the fork (or not).
If you want to control the coins (the keys) yourself (which you should) then you will need a wallet of some sort - different coins offer different options, most have a full local client (that will support only that coin); some offer lite or web clients that are usually quicker and easier to setup/use. Additionally there are a number of multi-coin wallets that support more than one coin - e.g. Coinomi, Exodus, Jaxx, Waves, Komodo and (slightly different) Electrum. Finally there are so-called cold storage options like hardware and paper wallets. Paper wallets in particular are best used for coins you don't plan to touch for a long while.
Thought I would bring this thread back to the top with an example of an interesting blockchain project that I think has legs so I've got some of these coins.

I suppose you may be interested in security tokens. Here is the STO list
How is it that no one has the mentioned the XRP token, a total steal at 24p?
I know it is not popular with traditional crypto fans as it is the complete opposite to Bitcoin and other privacy coins however it is the only project out there with a fully working network capable of 50,000 transactions per second (new Cobalt release). Bitcoin lightening comes nowhere close and crashes under high load.
Yes, it is a bankers coin that uses a distributed publicly viewable ledger with nodes dotted all around the world and only 7% controlled by Ripple. The tech has been open-sourced so if Ripple go bust then someone else can run with it. They also produced the Interledger Protocol (ILP) and open-sourced that too, it allows any digital currency to be freely exchange with any other digital currencies. It is essentially TCP/IP for money, a money computer network if you like. Bloody shrewd move if you ask me, given that XRP take 3 seconds to transact it will be automatically selected much of the time as it reduces the risks of market volatility due to its speed. It is a great way for parties that do not trust each other to securely transact with each other.
Ripple have addressed Parliament, are on the US Fed reserve and they've have been on stage a few time with different people from the IMF. They are working with many other central banks including BIS, the central bank of central banks. Does not take a rocket scientist to see where this is going in the long term. Bank of England won't be ready till 2024 / 25 however they already have between 150 - 200 commercial banks signed up and ready to go. DTCC are supposed to be using it for trading derivatives May which when it happens will push a lot of money through the money network.
So once crypto regulation has been finalised, I'm, hearing June, July for that, does anyone what to hazard a guess of what the price of XRP and the crypto market in general is going to do? Does anyone still think it will be sitting at 24p?
This token is where a majority of my spread is. Having said that there are other great projects out there and in time I am sure they will do very well, Ripple have the most advanced product and everyone else is playing catchup. They have the most partnerships in place.
We have some serious market manipulation to thank for it still being at 24p however it won’t remain that way for ever, who knows when the lid is going to come flying off this for sure however when it does…

How's it going for Ripple?
I hear the total crypto market had the best month since late 2017. Surely Ripple value has exploded?
