This is my 1970 model.
They are a beautiful watch, especially if you get a really nice colour on the bezel (not that I don't like cokes or all blacks, but the pepsi is iconic).
Pluses - gorgeous, size, weight
Negatives - crown small for my liking, no quickset date
I don't particularly like the jubilee bracelet, too many fussy little parts on it for my liking. The non-locking oyster is good.
Typical fair price from Mike, I would expect much more to part company with mine, fantastic watches.
Will the closed 6s date wheel be original to a 1966 1675?
This is a good read

I considered moving mine on last year but had a change of mind. Lovely watches, but being a 1675, not the most practical if worn in a rotation. Good luck with your search OP.
a full set gilt would be @13-15K but it would be well spent
you cannot lose money on it problem is you wont ever want to sell it even if you need the 15K back
beautiful models that i believe will only appreciate with time!
This thread really doesn’t help. I’d shelved the search for a full set birth year Fat Lady in excellent condition due to them being like hens teeth. Now I’ve restarted.

I thought gilt stood for gilt lettering - i.e. Rolex and GMT-Master were in 'yellow' text, as opposed to the pure white of the later models. There are differences in gilt dials (chapter rings, hands), and in later dials (radial is the big money in white lettered dials I think).
This might explain it better.

still i'd rather buy watches than bitcoin....
To think that when I bought my 5513 I passed over the Gilt ones because they looked old and not like moder rolex subs - they were only slightly more expensive in those days, still can't complain as my 5513 has more or less tripled in price
My current horological regret is passing over a birth month 5513 from Blowers two years ago because I though a 16760 might come up...
Cheers Mark, yep this ones a bit special looks like new in the flesh, had the T38 fitted but still got the original cyclops plexi, as you know with gilts it’s important to see the dial as any imperfections don’t always show up in pics but this has a perfect mirror gloss dial even under a loupe. It’s one of the few watches I have seen that made me go WOW.
