So what was the watch? When I was a kid the joke was anything that appeared on TW was doomed to die and never see the real world!
Thought he was pretty good presenting there, oh i do miss Kenneth Williams he was such a one off!

That is excellent, I loved KW a natural. I would be interested to know what the watch was and who’s it was.

It’s amazing how he can make a talk about watches and thermocouples sound so full of innuendo!
I was still expecting an “Ooh Matron!”
Made my day that, brilliant KW. Does anyone remember his stint on Jackanory ? Thanks for posting.
That's fab! I love kw.
Excellent stuff. Strange that he had his waist coat tucked into his trousers.

Happy Days :-)
Watching that brought back a memory of an old Dave Allen sketch about teaching a child to tell the time. I was probably mid-teens when I first saw it and it's stuck with me ever since. A classic :-)
No kidding! If he was using an autocue he did it brilliantly, if not he memorised and authoritatively conveyed some fairly technical stuff. Just goes to show what a fundamentally great performer he was, able to turn his hand to pretty much anything in the entertainment world.
That was Quite funny, I’m probably a bit young to fully understand who he is but I liked it
Brilliant, this made me roar. going through this for the last 6 months with my daughter.........'OH FORGET IT !!!'

KW such a massive talent, so underused and such a sad life he led. He desperately wanted to be remembered for his acting talent and intelligence but his legacy is the carry on films and ooh matron.
He's still well remembered for Round The Horne, I think, or at least the Julian And Sandy sketches. In the nineties his diaries were published. I remember enjoying reading them, but I don't remember much of the actual contents. Joe Orton's diaries were much more, er, memorable

He used it to good effect here
