    My Glashütte Original Senator Excellence

I'm really happy with this purchase (my second GO), bought used, but essentially unworn as far as I can tell, for what I consider to be a bargain price for what it is. Not the most exciting of designs perhaps, but it's classical(ish) elegance was just what I was looking for. The movement is beautifully finished and, apparently (but I don't claim to understand why), quite impressive technically. After a couple of weeks of wear it's still bang on accurate to the second, so I'm certainly happy with the results of that "technology"! At 40mm in diameter and 10mm thick it fits my seven and a quarter inch wrist really well, and is very comfortable.

Elegance, you said it yourself. I would also say beautiful. I would be very happy to have that in my collection. Very happy.

Lovely pics and lovely watch - the new GOs are supposed to make their lives easier to build complications on and easier to build.

Beautiful. I've had my go for four and a half years now, and always love to wear it.

Looks lovely. I prefer the look to a lot of other potential watches in the same genre. 40mm is a better size for me too.
It's just a matter of time...

    Congratulations,

that really is a very elegant and classical design.

Maybe it isn't what you would call very exciting but beautifully finished, excellent legibility and perfect dimensions.

I wish the germans didn't suck so bad at marketing and PR. They're so underappreciated in the horological world... Very lovely time piece! Should last you 50 years or more... Unless nuclear holocaust happens...

Congrats to a great watch, I really like the clean style. The caliber 36 is a awesome movement too with 100 hours power reserve with one barrel.

Classic elegance. Really 100hr power reserve! That's stonkingly good for a watch that doesn't shout about it.

Beautiful - restrained elegance to the front, and gorgeous decoration at the rear. I do like it when designers make their hand sets of adequate length also. An understated, classy gem.

    timeless classic

That looks superb & will continue to do so for some considerable time I suspect, classically elegant.

Beautiful. And the GO calibre 36 is quite something.
I chose the other dial option

But just love the quality of GOs (I now have three). Also, if you ever need them, the people at their factory could not be more helpful.
I am sure you will love this watch.

Thank! I haven't worn my Senator Moonphase for ages. This post just reminded how beautiful it is.
Will get it out now. Some day, a GO perpetual Calendar..........Sigh!

Do you mean the perpetual calendar? Yes, it is 42mm vs the Moonphase which is 40mm. I had the chance to try the perpetual calendar, it didn't look big even on my < 7 inch wrist.

A stunning watch! Enjoy and wear in good health. I never handled a GO but in photos they are really impressive.

No, I mean this one! 38mm would be ideal for me as I find 40mm far too large for a watch on leather with no bezel.

I agree 40mm is right on the limit for a watch of this type, although it depends on your wrist size of course. For what it's worth it wears to me more like a 38-39mm, perhaps due to the dark dial. I also think it works very proportionally, bearing in mind the 10mm thickness.
