Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

May the craftbeer gods strike me down for this…

…for while I have sinned, this was actually rather good.

This stuff is about as delicious as a stout can be, in my limited experience, but, I wouldn't want another this evening.

Good choice. Their big, BIG stouts are mega.

Ah, I just took a look at the label, from Hebden Bridge, it seems. In all my tripe to that Yorkshire, I have never been there. Early September should rectify this failure.

    Starting well…

    Not bad, not great.

As above. This needs to punch harder on ABV to really grasp the balls of West Coast IPA-ness.

Not really one for a bottle of Stella but, like you, thought I’d give it a try.

Really, really like this. Have bought some more bottles…twice now.

    This was excellent.

One of our local pubs has been given a revamp and apparently it’s owners are connected to Loose Cannon Brewery. Which is a good thing as it’s a change from the endless Brakspear pubs hereabouts and they also keep a guest tap. Loddon are local too and this was very pleasant.

Things got a bit fruity after that!

Lingonberry, Blackberry and Cranberry. Tart, sweet and sour. Very refreshing and surprisingly drinkable at that ABV.

Currently on holiday in Dorset/Devon and picked these up from the local Co-Op.

'Legend' was delicious - hoppy, nutty, slightly caramel.

'Crispy Pig' wasn't really what I wanted. I should have checked the label because it had essence of apple. I could imagine with a pork roast it might work, but if I want apples I'll drink cider or apple juice.

Six more to try over the next few days.

Shooting club tonight, in the local pub, so Pedigree it was. I scored well too, limited myself to 3 pints.

I had a bottle last month because my brother bought some. On a sweltering hot day it worked a treat.

Not sure I'd actually buy it for myself but I wouldn't refuse it if offered again.

Last weekend saw a flying visit back to the old County, ostensibly to see family but, in reality, to pick up some beers from two of my favourite breweries. And this is one of them. Mmmmmmmm.

Nice. Have you been to The Brewhouse Project? It’s on my “to visit” list. Their festival this year was very well regarded.

One for the appreciators of the dark.

This stuff is magic. I had it with sausage, mash and peas with onion gravy. Perfect match.

And on Thursday I enjoyed a number of refreshments from this menu at Farringdon Tap:

    Köstrizer Black Lager was awesome:

    As was the Rothaus Weizen:

It's very nice indeed Alan. With these nights putting in it's time for the dark side with a black IPA . . .

Dropped into my local brewery tap on the last leg of yesterdays ride. A quick half of Citra Quad sesssion IPA.

And a little later on, my 2,500th unique beer since I joined Untappd in 2014…

If anyone is in Southern Alberta

Great beer that is smooth and super light, for such high alcohol 5.9%---best part of the deal, brewed by my son!

In Cornwall on my hols. Cask Proper Job, fresh as a daisy. Happy days!

Thornbridge seem to always knock-out solid West Cosst pale ales. This was no exception.

And my love-affair with Burning Sky’s wares continues apace…

Thornbridge & Brew York have made an excellent example of West Coast IPA in this one. Piney, crisp, herbal bitterness, the citrus marmalade tang of orange peel and a big, bold mouthfeel. Packs a punch.
