Another 3 cases for me - a couple of IPA options and White beer for a change.

But tonight - I've just opened this & wow....

    What a beer ! - I think I've found a new favourite... shame it's limited edition.
I'll have to sneak another order in before they end the run.

I’ve been on Skye this week chilling out and having a few ales each evening. Here’s a selection from the trip.

Broke the journey up by stopping in Bowness-on-Windemere for a night and had a lovely couple of pints at The Royal Oak Inn (Purity Mad Goose and Black Sheep Ale).

    Long live cask!

Then it’s been largely on what I brought with me in the cooler from the home stash...

I’ve also sampled a local brew which was lovely with Venison Pie for lunch.

And I’m bringing home some local tipples having visited both distilleries on the island!

    Hic!

Latest haul, as usual it's a mix of cans however there are some repeats here. S43's Beast is just knockout (and at 12% literally and metaphorically) as is Three Hills Speyside barrel aged imperial.

Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

Long days driving from Skye to the Lakes. A one beer night as I’ve another 5-6hrs on the road tomorrow back to London via Yorkshire.

Lovely beer this, the best I’ve had from Good Things. Super smooth, fruity and with a good whack of hoppy bitterness.

A quick snap as I returned from the ablutions Alan. It was rather damp and chilly out in the yard yesterday, but the usual gaggle of stalwarts were well wrapped up and out of the rain. An inside seat by the fire would have been very welcome though, but the outdoor craic and Prince Bishop were as good as ever . . .

Seeing as the weather has turned autumnal this seemed appropriate :

Perfect for washing down a pasty with.

Based upon the first few mouthfuls I'm not so sure about this one. There's definitely a licorice thing going on, not that it's listed on the can, and I love the stuff however this blend of flavours is just a bit odd...

I'll finish the glass, just to be sure!

Due to a shift change, I ended up doing two week's Oncall cover, which finished this morning. I'm rewarding myself for fourteen days of abstinence with a brace of Ease Up IPA.

You lucky folk that live in Yorkshire & Lancs and have Booths as your local supermarkets. Best beer aisle in the U.K.?

This from Evil Twin was an odd one but somehow worked great. Basically tastes like blueberry pancakes with maple syrup and a hint of salt.

Riverside sharer session with a pal here on the Thames...

Stocking up, I’m on holiday next week so made sure there’s no lack of ales. In truth about 1/3 of this was to share with two mates

This was first out the Thornbridge box. Quite an extraordinary thing. A real sipping drink with so much complexity in the flavours but utterly delicious.

And finally, I got out and up to Hackney for a few beers at Deviant & Dandy and Hackney Church Brew Co, two breweries I’ve not been to before, and ended up at Five Points.

Great to be out trying new beers with pals again.

Mainly sours plus a couple of hazy’s and a pils at D&D:

A mix of IPA’s and some properly banging 10 & 11% Imperial Stouts at HCBC...

I was well lubricated by the time we got to Five Points lovely shiny new brewery, but the Best Bitter on cask was top drawer.

    Mmmm

Feeling a bit nervous tonight. This time last week we at home, happy where we are. Now we have had an offer accepted on a hoise and contemplating the ball ache of moving. Strange how life throws things at you.
