After three uncomfortable days due to my reaction to the covid vaccine (I had the virus back in November, which may be a factor) it was good to get my appetite and beeretite back today . . .

I was working over the weekend and I'm not long home, day off tomorrow so I can kick back properly with the first of the evening.

I seem to have a knack of picking out drinks that disguise their ABV well, here's another!

S43, or Sonnet 43 as they were, are just up the road from me. All being well I should be supping some Raven in my local in the not too distant future . . .

For me one of the best lagers: Pivnica Medvedgrad "Zlatni medvjed" or golden bear.

(recommend to anyone if visiting Croatia...)

If that Raven is half as good as the imperial stout that I had above then it'll be well worth the wait.

I wasn't intending on stopping by the beer shop today however, seeing as I was passing anyway...

More of S43's The Beast, another Polly's Birthday Beer and Step Inside The Panic Room, a Siren Caribbean Chocolate Cake and two from local brewery Radio City Beer Works, a white stout, a couple of whisky themed cans and a few others.

    Evening all.

Had an excellent time last night trying a mates home brew efforts, the highlight of which was his imperial stout. It was amazing!

We also shared these two, a lovely table beer from Beak and a walloping Triple IPA from BBNo’s...

Tonight’s kicking off with a classic...

Finished a chilli infused curry not long ago and, as is usual, I fancied something sweet afterwards.

Hmm... This is a little like drinking a cold white chocolate drink with only a very slight booziness, it's almost like liquid Toblerone with a lower sugar level. It's certainly satisfying my sweet tooth but it's not doing much for the ale lover I me, the (dark) Lervigs and desert-in-a-can Amundsens do a better job of balancing flavours IMO.

Sounds unusual but somehow also right up my alley!

Just sipping my way through this big boy.

We should have swapped, I've tried a few whisky/bourbon barrel aged beers and loved them all!

Lots of them about, eh? I’ve got a bunch in the cellar queue waiting for their time. Ideally I’d like to have a sharing evening. Hopefully not too long to wait now.

After a day of prepping the kit hen for A lick of paint I think I ha e earned this:

Picked up a case of these from the brewery shop after trying my first bottle. It is now my favourite local pint. And the do some other cracking beers too.

Not the best batch of Sharks, galaxy hops at the moment apparently to blame

    Since last time...

A Rothaus Radler whilst setting the BBQ up.

Followed by my last Drop Project beer (a delight) and the best NA beer money can buy at the moment.

Another week, another box of delights, this time from Ipswich’s Burnt Mill who, according to reviews, seem to have hit a rich vein of form recently. Decided I’d better be the judge of that and put my mouth where my money is!

Straight onto the contents of the box with Into Gold...

And a new brewery to me, Chain House Brewing Co. And this lovely number.

    Then a double-Verdant bosh-a-rama. After which I was a bit “tired”

    Siren Broken Dreams Breakfast Stout.
You’d have to be a brave ( or troubled ) man to have this for breakfast.
