This was nothing short of epic.

Bristols finest know how to knock out a big-assed impy stout!

Duration Beer continue to produce some of the most well-balanced beers in the U.K. Very few brewers can make beers like this with the quality and consistency that Bates can. Really top quality stuff. If you’re a fan of Belgian pales you’ll love beers like this.

Surely she must share your concern about catastrophic failure of the fridge and loss of food therein? The only way to mitigate is an external chiller / compressor.

My strategy was a two tap set-up for IPA and Guinness. Everybody happy. You can also put cocktails through it if so inclined

Happy share details and config if you are considering.

Knowing Mr Middo he’s bought that to pad out the bag so the bottles don’t crack together as he’s driving home on the door handles

Bit of a tart for the start of Sunday evening?

Followed by a Verdant classic. Haven’t had one of these since 2018, and it’s as good as ever. Mosaic / Simcoe hop bill is a great combo.

Got the week off and will be pounding the London streets picking up odds and sods for the Xmas fridge.

Today I dropped by BBNo’s and Cloudwater in Enid St...

    BBNo’s DDH Pale Ale no.10,
BBNo’s Canadian Breakfast Stout with Maple Syrup,
    Boundary Export Stout,
BBNo’s Binker Barrell Aged Imperial Stout, aged in Bourbon and Single Malt Whisky casks.

Any recommendation for a Pale Ale by BBNos or Bermondsey mile?

    Plenty mate.

That ones likely to be good, their regular session pales are good too so buy with confidence.

Cloudwater’s regular core Pale is brilliant, loads of flavour and texture and under 4%

The Kernel’s Table Beer is consistently excellent, as are their pales and IPA’s.

Anspach & Hobdays pale (green label) is really nice too.

    Fill yer boots

I live a few minutes away so familiar with a lot of them, just fancy something different. I have a chiller compressor that is great with key keg. BBNos was recommended by my supplier ( of Guinness) but I’ve not really tried much of theirs.

Just finished a week of Oncall. Starting with ProperJob IPA, then we'll see what else takes my fancy. No early calls please!

Picked these up earlier today, chose a few Deyas including the shop's last Deya/Verdant colab Degrees DIPA (can with the green banding). Picked up another Lervig and a couple of Xmas themed Amundsens (would have bought more however they're not cheap!) as well as the big brother to my favourite lassi gose Passing Piranhas, Neon Raptor's Massive Piranhas imperial lassi gose. This'll be my last splurge before the NY though at the pace I get through them they'll last.

    Beer

My suggestion would be to take yourself for a stroll down Enid St when all are open and buy a couple from each as you go. I’m in Greenwich and tend to do just that when I’m passing on the bike and have a rucksack with me.

If I had to choose a pale, I’d say try the Cloudwater first then the A&H.

In case anyone is interested, my home brewery has grown, and (with a chum) we are now a proper nanobrewery.

Our first beer goes on sale in my local micro tomorrow.

    @marlixbrewery on facebook.

It's a stout made with mincemeat (which is in turn made by my neighbour), and called 'Gold, Frankenstein and Grr!.

We also have a keg of our vanilla milkshake porter going into a different micro on friday. This one is called SPG.

First craftbeer from Latvia went down well.

A bit lively initially but soon settled. Very smooth in the mouth, light carbonation, a hint of booze, perhaps a little earthiness, and a citrus-fruity bitterness to finish. Very moreish!

Maybe so but I have my doubts when they are describing a beer?

I had to look it up just to make sure it was real.

Not as nice as out of a bottle, or even draught. Those were the days.

An absolutely cracking beer, one of the best I’ve had in a while. No idea where I bought it from (sadly!)

And a selection of wares from Drop Project, a pretty new brewery in South London who’ve been acclaimed by many beer geeks I follow...

Will report in on both these bundles over the coming months!
