I think I’ve found Number 2’s missing ethanol:

Had this Friday night , Tesco pick-up , slightly sweet start then roasty bitter end

Had this Saturday night , son got it for me and glass when in Hull a few weeks back , chocolatey/toffee with a bit of alco burn to finish.

I’d certainly have both again but only one at a time!

Friday night took a sweeter tone.

Papaya and Lime Gose to go with fish n chips. Perfect pairing!

Then a sweet sour from Scotland

And an even sweeter Choco Banana dessert stout.

Last night I enjoyed this excellent West Coast Pale Ale from Burnt Mill...

An IPA from Burning Sky (which didn’t taste all that initially, but got much better as it warmed a bit)...

And this really excellent mixed fermentation farmhouse-style pale ale, from St Mars of The Desert...

Pre whisky appetiser. Pretty good overall, if not a little bitter!

A friend and I are opening a brewery. Very small, 100L brew length. We're called the Marlix Brewing Company.

This evening I'm on our Vanilla milkshake porter. Unlikely any of you will see it soon, unless you live in Bromley.

We have a mince pie stout going into a local micro in a couple of weeks.

    Cheers!

Nice. A few mates and I have been talking about the same, the market is crowded in London though. I wish you the best of luck. I am envious, I would love to brew my own on mass.

Mince Pie stout? What's not to like. Good luck with the brewing in these difficult times. Would be interested in seeing a pint posted here.

    Thanks chap.

My friend who co-owns the brewery and I both have full-time jobs, so there's no economic issue really, although we hope to not make a loss!!

Will post the mince pie stout once it gets out to the pub.

    Alex.

To celebrate our eldest daughter passing her 11+ Grammar School exam I’m having a can of beer.

(The boxes contain 24 bottles of Millstone Tiger Rut too...I’m a bit of a fan!)

Bitburger! Nothing special, but a solid choice if you're just after a good lager.

    Bit of a backtrack again.

We don’t see enough Dark Milds anymore, so this was a pleasant change from hazy juice.

DEYA’s “saturated in” series has knocked out some really nice DIPA’s, this is one of them.

3 years barrel matured. 7.2%. Delicious but punchy. Think I’ll only be having one of these as it’s Sunday!

Was the same for me, I am dying for a draft pint of the black stuff in a pub. Not had one since March.

I've just had an ice cold can of Stella 'cos there was no Beck's, really good, not at all the nutter's drink of the seventies that I remember.

I bought a beer chiller, cylinder of gas and regular keg delivery. Best lockdown decision I made. About £1.80 a pint and everyone perfect.

A mate of mine subscribes. Can be a bit hit n miss but he keeps it going so I imagine more of the former than the latter. You can always cancel of course.

    Very average...

    Extremely good...

    Absolutely exceptional, straight up 5/5...

And a very good big boi stout for the darkness fans...

I am not sure I could get one past the mrs. She already has the hump with the beer fridge in the garage. She wants to keep pointless things like food in there

And tonight, I’m lifting off with a Polish West Coast IPA. Full of malty, piney, dank goodness.

It’s no shrinking violet at 7%, but it’s excellent. £3.69 delivered via kraftklub.pl

If you’ve never dabbled in the Polish craftbeer scene I highly recommend you do. Some excellent brewers and beers.

Gorgeous drink, a little on the sweet side but goes down very easily.

    Picked up from Majestic earlier.
