Rothaus Pils is very well regarded in Germany. Here's mine for tonight...

House clean. Shopping done. Have an hour of peace and quiet to myself so I thought I'd celebrate with one of these to wash down some new potatoes dripping in butter.

I’m just keeping up with you lot

(I’m avoiding the whisky on the next one. I was very ‘tired’ last time!)

Something black and white as I watch the Toon v Man City. The way the game's going so far (Man City 188 passes - 15 from the Toon) my mood will likely just be black by it's finished.

Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

A couple of these tonight for the Newcastle - Man City game

Thankfully, it’s a bit lower % than City possession

I’m really enjoying more lagered beer at the moment. All this sunshine and warm weather, plus there are some really lovely crisp beers from UK brewers, as well as good’uns like this from our continental pals.

Another I enjoy is Jever pils, have you tried that by any chance?

Used to buy a crate of 500ml bottles a week when I lived in Frankfurt, 12 bottles for less than €20, including deposit!!
Something told me that I could trust your opinion

Haven't tried Jever though I do intend on trying a few more new-to-me pilsners over the summer and I'll be keeping a glass in the freezer for them. There's something about a cold lager on a hot day that can't be beat, that and a decent G&T.

Had three ales over the last couple of nights. Dry & Bitter's Dank & Juicy was exactly what it says on the tin (well, the dank/resin/pine was there, the juice could have been a notch higher) and is a West Coaster I'd buy again, Polly's Rosa is probably the best DIPA I've drank and Polly's DDH Via The Hourglass (not pictured here) was OK but not outstanding - perhaps I should have tried it before drinking the DIPA

    Dank & Juicy

    Rosa

Picking up where I left off on Friday, when there was indeed one more to firmly cement Saturdays thick head!

Saturday evenings session was a bit less hectic, but managed a few new ones collected from Park Fever, my local indie bottleshop.

Another nice one from Deya, very light and a refreshing start to proceedings.

A new one from Verdant which was a sweet little number, and a very nice summer beer.

And to finish, I’d love to share some dark beer porn for those of the Brown Ale persuasion... but Tapatalk says I need to be a VIP before I can. Will update this post with Left Handed Giants “Still Darkness”, an 11% Imperial Brown Ale with date syrup, orange zest and cassia bark.

    This arrived yesterday:

In two separate deliveries?! And sadly missing 8 bottles of Sole Star that Yodel managed to lose then break them deliver....deliver back to Adnams that is. They are completely useless.

Luckily Adnams customer service is great and 8 more bottles are being shipped. Let’s see if useless Yodel manage to find the house next time!

So now I understand why this stout is popular amongst these parts:

    Nice and rich.

(But I’ve had two better stouts recently: Cloudwater’s is excellent, it has a real crispness too it, and Marble’s is also excellent...when it’s in stock!)

An anonymous take away from my local. I think it is one from the Buntingford brewery.

But first I need to decant it into a proper pot.

Haveston canvas. I have three threads going in Leather, Rubber & Nylon re longevity etc of canvas. I've been considering canvas for a while, but I'm convinced of it's qualities now.

My current fave beer. Shipyard IPA, adorned with a fully restored 1960s Rotary with a new Watch Gecko strap.

Thank goodness it's Friday and now officially Beer O'clock.

When I was a student in Edinburgh back in the 80s there weren’t many real ales and the Broughton Brewery were one of the main suppliers. Despite the explosion in craft beer they don’t seem to have expanded much at all so I was really pleased to find their IPA in Sainsbury’s yesterday. 6.2% but it goes down remarkably easily.

Would that be the Hopo? Several bottles of that particular ale are currently awaiting my attention! Delicious!

Had to don my hunter gatherer hat today, so got some bottles in while out. I've got plenty of dark beers in at the moment, so got some lighter ones for thirst quenching. Got 2 of each . . .
