Didn’t have this last night , got on the wine! , so thought I’d try it tonight . Very thick oil like mouthfeel bourbon hint and alcohol finish - 10%er , not many of these needed!

I do love the opportunity that canned beer has given graphic designers, the amount of work that goes into the cans is amazing.

I’ve been drinking a selection from my local brewery by the horns. If you live in Sw London and want to support them it’s https://bythehorns.co.uk

...not much evidence of that here - I think Ronseal may have been involved ...

Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

    Throwback to last night.

Something a little unusual from Bamberg. Smoked Dunkelweizen anyone? Went amazingly with a fillet steak...

And a syncdrink with uni mates with a Cloudwater Vienna lager...

And tonight, started with another lovely Cloudwater beer, a hoppy, hazy number...

Followed by a fruity, dry, mildly salty one from Magic Rock & Wild Beer Co which went brilliantly with cod and chips...

Took a shortcut through the retail park near the end of my daily Corona busting walk to see if Home Bargains had any bog roll in (at last they did) and to my great joy they again have Mud City Stout on the shelves after many months of absence. Three cooled nicely, Wainwright first to quench the thirst and then on to darker things . . .

A fine trio! I've had the Mud City Stout a few times.

At a straight quid for a 6% stout I think tomorrows walk may follow the same route!

And lo it came to pass...

That was nice. Very nice drop. Pours with a dark coffee head, chocolate/cocoa nose, coffee roasters taste with a feint smokiness, very lightly carbonated, good flavours despite not being strong.

Pubs are shut, supermarkets have been hoovered out of beer. So back on the emergency Bud.

A trio of Lidl Purple Panther for me tonight, finished off with a decent slug of Lagavulin watching old episodes of Top Gear. Not a bad Sunday night.

Took a look in Home Bargains as I neared home at the end of my walk earlier, just before they closed so was the only customer. Bought 4 bottles of Mud City stout. Had one, along with a King Goblin and rounded off with an Aberlour.

As Off Licences now re-classified as "essential" my local brewery (Nethergate) has opened it's shop in a virtual way, e.g. you phone your order through, pay over the 'phone and twice weekly collection is available (outside on pallets) so no contact. Consequently I have been getting through 9 pints of Suffolk County (bright in minipin) and have a reserve of 6 bottles of Melford Mild. Cheers, John B4

Just had an emergency supply of these delivered
    It’s a fantastic drop

I will probably move on to this after.

The delivery contained a few more to tide me over for a week or so...

Two from last night, neither of which I'll be rushing out to buy again. It's a very rare occasion that I'll try a beer and just not get on with it yet these two didn't appeal at all, in fact I couldn't finish the Pressure Drop... PD's Escape Pod was too strong on the coconut as it dwarfed everything else (even the cherry which I didn't get any of at all) and the Flavortown had little, if any, of the honeycomb that was promised and had a particularly weak and nondescript finish.

Oh well, can't win them all I suppose.

    Escape Pod

    Flavortown

    Just opened this...
    It’s bloody awful!
    No head
    Very flat
Not overly orange in flavour, but just enough to make it rather minging. In fact it’s pretty boring.
... And Waitrose delivered 4 cans as a substitute product.
It will be a Covid reserve beer!

Faced with a 3 bottle limit in Tesco yesterday I opted to buy only 2. That's 2 boxes of Greene King Abbot Ale with 10 500ml cans in each, so 20 cans for £22, but in Tesco speak only 2 items. I'm very pleasantly surprised, it's as good as many a bottled ale I've had and obviously very good value indeed for a 5% beer. Buy with confidence if risking your life on a hunter gatherer sortie and stay safe. Here's the Vic looking sad and deserted, locked up for the duration . . .

I too have been partaking of these abbot ale boxes. Probably partaking a little too much truth be told but I'm liking it

So glad to have found this in the local mall.

Served slightly chilled, it has an abundance of flavours and it has a wonderful long finish.

    7.6% gives it its depth.

Four days on the bounce. If this continues I’ll be skint and fat!

Thursday nights virtual pub celebrating a mates 45th with...

Genuinely think you can’t get a better pils than this anywhere outside of Germany.

This was delightfully crisp and hoppy...

And this is one of the best beers you can buy in a supermarket, hands-down imo...

Wasn’t exactly sparkling come Friday morning, however after a long day at t’mill, I raided the cellar for these beauties...

One of the best beers I’ve had in months from Cloudwater...

    Genuinely stunning...

And delighted to have some Deya back in the fridge courtesy of a home delivery from the super Park Fever...

Finished off Friday with some single malt.

Saturday I rewarded myself with this nice refreshing lager from BBNo’s after tidying up the garden and a long bike ride...

Then continued the “no haze for days” theme and cantered through a West Coast IPA theme with this from Cloudwater..

This from a batch gifted to me by a Polish colleague...

And this big boy which I brought back from Rome back in December last year and have been saving - 9.2% and taking no prisoners...

And finally today. I had a lovely, lazy morning followed by an afternoon tidying the house upstairs and then giving the hedges a trim. Earned myself an early evening refresher and chose this absolutely delightful Grisette from Duration...

...and paired this floral American Pilsner from Marble with Mrs Works’ Lamb Rogan cuzza...

Time for a few days off the juice, ready for the Bank Hol weekend.

    Cheers all

I had a small bottle of Becks last night...

Aside from that and a Franziskaner weissbier on Monday, it's about all the beer I've drunk this month.

All this being stuck at home is causing me to drink less, rather than more (I did have a Glenfiddich later in the evening too, though, but that's not beer)
