Been to The House of Trembling Madness in York today. Got a fine selection of ales. I'll post a blow by blow account tonight.

    Last nights triple-header...

First ever beer from Norfolk’s Duration brewing. Really nice pale ale.

Then this fruity saison from Brick with my scampi, chips and peas.

And this absolute headbanger from Marble. Everything I like about powerful, West Coast-style American IPA’s. Hoppy, malty, a bit sweet, and strong!

So this is what I bought today in York.

Started with the Wold Top Marmalade porter. It's a bit thin in the mouth compared with other porters but is pleasantly flavoured, leaving a subtle aftertaste of oranges, chocolate and coffee. Nice but not sure I'd be buying it again.

I quite enjoy the Pistonheads beer selection 6 pack you can get at the moment. 2 for £9 is a bargain compared to the normal price.

Moved on to Old Town Tavern, Key West, first up is a Laces Up IPA at 6.9% , a bit too citrus for my taste, followed by Salt Lake lager at 4.5%, much more mellow.

Had a lovely broken spring on the car yesterday, so had to get it taken to my local man (by Green Flag, excellent service) and arrange the repair (2 springs & shockers, new battery as well). Having a destress sup now. Something light to hurl down for the 1ˢᵗ couple . . .

Sometimes you just have too much choice...!

This is the ale board in the Fell Bar in Penrith, where I thoroughly enjoyed the Neptune... more than once!

I have been limited to the pale fuzzy stuff for the last week or so
It’s better than none at all though.

Wife's out, son is in bed, Project Binky on TV and one of these is on the go:

    Can't get much better tonight.

The beer is new to me and very nice it is too.

Playing catch-up on this thread. Some quality beers above and amused to see the Mosi and a snap of the Zambezi, reminds me of a similar picture I took from the Zambian side last June.

This week has been good I tried a few beers from Reading’s Double-Barrelled brewery at a meet the brewer tasting, quick snap of Parka (their core pale) which was nice...

After the tasting I stayed on for a couple more. A zippy, sour fruity number from Tottenham’s Pressure Drop...

And this lovely hoppy pale from Manchester’s Track...

And finishing off with an absolute juice-bomb from North. Their Triple Fruited Gose series goes from strength-to-strength. Quite amazingly crafted beers...

Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

    That ^^ was Wednesday night.

Last night I popped into the wonderful River Ale House micropub in Greenwich, and sampled two off the board...

Pig and Porter Skylarking pale and Bridgewater Landlady IPA went down a treat.

Then back home for this little can of hoppy, fruity delight from Bermondsey’s Brew By Numbers...

And another tin of Verdant’s Putty DIPA...

Whilst in the Vic yesterday supping some lovely Wylam Gold, I noticed three new pump clips for upcoming beers from a new brewery up in Northumberland, the Cheviot Brewery. There's a light ale and a bitter, but I'm particularly looking forward to their Black Hag stout . . .

I'm going to keep a look out for that one, sounds right up my street

Tonight's tipple is Neon Raptor's Hippo Launcher DIPA. Probably a 6/10 from me, it's got the tropical fruits however it's a little thin and lacking in dimension on the flavour profile and not much dankness that I do so enjoy.

Miami time 5:30, Wynnwood La Rubia local brew.
“Sorry sir we only sell in halves”, “No problem pal, give me 2 halves please”.
Nice “red American” beer, none of the previous citrus IPA/APA I’ve been drinking. Going down very easily

One of my local breweries up here in Seattle. They do some great IPA’s..
Decided to finish off the last of these seeing as we’re having a cold snap. Quite light, despite the darkness, with a tiny hint of caramel - it’s a good time of year when they release this.

Popped into town to pick up a new umbrella, well timed as it started to pi$$ down as I left the shop! So to the Vic, where the beers from the new Cheviot brewery are coming on. First some Harbour Wall . . .

Just a quickie tonight,4.6% Malton’s Bad Seed - another recommendation from my son - it’s definitely as it says on the tin - very tart lemony/limey bit of fizz but really good!

The Harbour Wall from Cheviot was excellent, but I was disappointed with their Black Hag, it was a little thin and I thought slightly bland. Mind you that was a glass straight from the cask before it went on sale, I'll give it a try today if it's still on. Their Trig Point was on yesterday, slightly more bitterness than the Harbour Wall, but still excellent and very quaffable indeed. If you see their ales on a bar then buy with confidence!

Currently in Lanzarote. This afternoon I've had a few of these from the hotel bar. Smooth but full bodied, more like a beer than a lager. Very drinkable. Then I discovered why I couldn't concentrate on the Times crossword. It's 7.2%
