Sorry, I got you mistaken for someone else who had posted a picture of Sam Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout. It must be that you post a lot of beer photos . Anyhow here is the thing which I seek, I think I might need to treat Mrs S to a run down to their brewery in Tadcaster:

I may be in town tomorrow for a walk with the camera, if not then I'll be in during the week. I'll take a look in the Colpitts and the Swan (also a SS's pub) and see what turns up.

Floral with peach hints, but far from overbearing. A really enjoyable drop.

We are clearly blessed with a high standard of beers in this country.

Can I kindly direct you to this wondrous BBC film on YouTube? Get yourself a drink or two and enjoy it in all its alcoholic glory. I know it's an hour long but it's very easy to watch.

Popped in the Swan en route to the Dun Cow just now and they do indeed stock the SS stout in question, so I reckon any SS house near you will likely have it.

A selfless act to go and check this for me (and risk having a pint!). Much appreciated.

I took a bigger risk, the Castle Eden Ale was off in the Dun Cow, the Seaham crowd are brewing their pi$$ version again. I detoured to the Victoria Bridge , look away now if you are craving stout, I stayed for 3 . . .

At 7% perhaps this isn’t the ideal afternoon beer. Surprisingly drinkable though! (Glad I’ve only got one bottle)

I've just had a nice pair of pints of Golden Retriever up in the Lake District, although my comment of "has it got any real dog in it"? fell on stony ground.

Got into the City just before the rain started to lash down yesterday evening. Luckily when it started I was ensconced in front of an open fire with a soothing pint to hand . . .

Whilst up in the fair city of Newcastle today with Mrs S, we had a mooch around the excellence that is Fenwick's Food Hall. Picked up these two beauties which I'll be having a good go at tonight. Happy Beer!

I intended to nip up to the Toon today to try out my new Senior Rail Card, but time got the better of me. That Food Hall is a devilish place mind but, so much luverly scran! Had to make do with the Vic in Durham and the Raven stout. Those open fires are so damn hot. Sigh . . . ;-)

PS. Look forward to your tasting notes.

    A couple of Aldi purchases...

Nice and drinkable, but nothing special.

    However, this one:

Is a bit of a belter. Apparently it won gold at the SIBA National Keg Beer completion 2016 (whatever that is!).

A stroll around the Food Hall, picking up whatever takes my fancy, is one of my favourite ways to plan a weekend supper. The steak tartare at Porterhouse is one of the best I have ever had and I'm a bit of an obsessive about that. A very easy place to part with some serious wedge.

Ha ha yes! Literally and geographically close (the brewery) The magirus in question was a TL (turntable ladder) that I drove/operated in a previous life. This is the actual TL, long gone as is the tower and indeed the whole HQ complex, housing now! :-(

Cool! We should organise a Newcastle GTG where men can gather, drink beer and talk bollocks. It's my specialist subject. Ask Mrs Sish!

Have the day off today so decided to have one of these for lunch:

    on Flickr

Hepworth are my favourite brewer at the moment. Their Sussex and Iron Horse are also superb.

Now I need a coffee to keep me awake for the afternoon.

Not true 'beer' as such but it's cold and crisp (despite being served in a less than ideal container). Currently enjoying 24° of early November sunshine in Malta, whilst my niece house sits and looks after the animals. I've brought my PRS-18Q as it's not so flashy but suitable for sea and pool swimming.

Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

    What a cracking idea ...

Brewgooder craft beer is on a mission to bring 1,000,000 people clean drinking water around the world - https://www.brewgooder.com

Tastes nice too (IMHO) - much softer than a pilsner - more akin to a kölsch.
