I'm up for trying new stuff, but sometimes they are to strong tasting for me, I started drinking a pale ale called shipyard rye but I went off it

Marks and Sparks 4 for 3,I also bought some other types.
I believe the lager I had when I went to Munich was better tasting than the pils in the north.

No beer for me tonight as I am trying my best to stay off it during the week, I have slipped back in to bad habits recently. I did have some sausages with London Pride in them for dinner and they were magic, you could really taste the beer.

Well, after 2 dry days I went out for a bike ride this morning to get in the mood for watching today's TDF stage, and what a stage it was! Suitably lathered I'm now having a nice cold IPA, opened with my special bike bottle opener . . .

. . . and after the thirst is quenched it's on to some flavour shortly (library shot) . . .

I don’t drink every night that bottle lasted me 2 days I was savouring it.

I just finnished it now [while wearing my IWC purchased in Munich] and put these 2 in the fridge.

Quality never goes out of style, beer or watches.

Mrs Sish applauds your choice of sport, whilst I do likewise with that bottle opener. Very classy!

    Hope her eye is okay,

I prefer that Hobgoblin to the Hobgoblin Gold I have, sometimes I have to rely on what the Wife buys me from the supermarket.

She's fine today thanks, if a little sore. It's a corneal abrasion. Re the Hobgoblin, I also prefer their darker beers, the King Goblin is superb, trouble is it slips down so easily . . . all 6.6% of it!

Yes I definitely prefer darker ales, but 6.6% would be way to strong for me.

    Have you tried Doombar?

By chance Doombar was on in the Half Moon yesterday, didn't try it though as I can't resist the Draught Bass at £2.80 a pint!

Possibly the best value bottled ale going at the moment in terms of price v strength, at £1.25 in Tesco.

Doom Bar is readily available in casks down here, I guess because they come from Sharps brewery in Cornwall. The bottled stuff is produced in Burton-upon-Trent and IMO is markedly different to the draught.

All jobs done for today. Family all showered, packed lunches packed, work emails cleared down and now it's time for beer. First up a crisp bottle of Black Sheep.
Sitting in the arbour at the top of the garden feeding my fish, it's a lovely still evening and the hectic schedule of work tomorrow is a million miles away. I've put a couple of sandlewood sticks on to burn to keep the bitey flyey things at bay. Cheers all.
