Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

    Four goals requires four beers!

    Three down so far…

Edited to add… apparently 3 beers was enough, seeing as I’d had one at lunchtime that counts, *we* are tired and *we* are going to bed.

Lunch pint was Oakham Citra for good measure

    Damn you neck oil
I have my first hangover in a very long time this morning.
Still stupidly drinking 10 pints of anything will do that too you.
Won’t be doing that again for another very long time.

Those look gooood! It makes me happy to see cask ale back again.

Meanwhile, Sunday abstinence time for me.

The Big Drop was ok, on the too-sweet side for me and not enough hoo flavour.

This though is really excellent. Dry, hoppy with decent residual bitterness and not dominated by sweet malt like most NA beers.

I fully intended to be down there today Alan, but with the hitty missy weather lately I had to take to the garden with mower and strimmer. :-( Hope you had a good stay and enjoyed the ales!

Walking back through town after a hospital appointment I felt a little thirsty in the heat. It would have been rude not to . . .

    Prince Bishop

Mystical Jack Traditional Ale from Rhinelander Brewing Company, Monroe, Wisconsin. Inspired by the age old legend of the Jackalope, a rare and fierce creature.

Lucky enough to sample a few pints of Prince Bishop at the weekend. Michael really keeps his beer in good nick.

I'm expecting Durham Dark Angel to be on tomorrow Alan, the first dark ale since reopening. Lord knows I've been badgering Micheal often enough!

After some weeks of limited capacity, and getting nearer to "normality", the badgering paid off and Michael went to the dark side. So after a very sweaty walk down the hill and a couple of Prince Bishops to cool down . . .

Finished the last few glasses of Shelby on the PD keg.

Was lovely to have my father over yesterday & share a few long overdue glasses together from it, simple pleasures.

Only popped in for a swift cooler after Kensington Palace.
Had to book in for an hours slot at a table (covid rules).
Got chatting to locals Peter, Mike & Keith, 4 hrs & numerous pints later we bid our new buddies farewell.
Good atmosphere and a cracking pint.

    This to start this evening.
It’s nice enough but unremarkable, a bit sweet for my tastes. I don’t tend to like beers this strong though.

Which is a beautiful irony given that the style in question originates from the USA!

Any of you beer connoisseurs on beer 52, I signed up to a free month and pleased I do, lovely selection of Croatian light beers and snacks. No idea what future deliveries will bring but seems a hassle free way of getting g a crate of beer for the cost of postage in month 1

I am a non alcohol drinker but love a low or zero % beer.

I have tried lots in my time and really love:

    Erdinger -

But a new favourite is Lidl's Petronus Weissbeer - its is pure joy and only 65 pence per bottle.

For one week every month, I cover an on-site call out rota so suggestions for non-alcoholic alternatives are always welcome. I'll drop by Lidl at the weekend and pick a few up. Thanks.
