I have a new favourite beer, we went away to Blakney in Norfolk last weekend and the local had Adnams 'Easy up' IPA on tap. Really nice, like, slightly citrusy and refreshing.
    Cheers..

It’s very nice out of a bottle too! Bought it today in a mixed 4 for £6 at Tesco.

Just looked at their website, very tempting! Don't remember seeing it when we were in the Lake District though.

Had a stroll around the Toon with a pal yesterday. Kicked off in the Bridge Hotel, as usual spoiled for choice with an excellent range of ales in perfect condition. We were both in a dark mood . . .

Tonight's my last night as the Oncall engineer for our site. That stout looks magnifique. I shall be having more than one of their kind tomorrow night.

Just in from work, what a crap day. Consoling myself with one of these, very crisp and refreshing. If you've never tried one, have a look this weekend on the supermarket shelves. It's the best non-alcoholic 'beer' I've had. But don't worry beer fiends, I'll be having some proper beer tonight but for the moment this will do just fine.

Well, I am currently holidaying in Ireland, and only about a 10 min drive from where Murphy's is brewed. Not normally a stout drinker however when in Rome

A fine selection of dark ones indeed. That Spill the Beans is a lovely example, best served slightly cooler than others. Enjoy!

I used to like Double Maxim in the 70s and 80s when it was brewed by Vaux, indeed I had my first pub drink as an underage young shaver in a Vaux pub, the Black Bull in Nettlesworth, where I was born and bred. Vaux Silver Tankard. Maxim had a more pronounced flavour back then, same as Newcastle Brown had, and I liked them both equally. Both the Vaux brewery and the Black Bull are gone now. :-( As an aside, the Nicholson family who owned Vaux lived not far from Durham at Southhill Hall, a splendid country house just down the lane from the Red Lion at Plawsworth on the A167, which was a splendid old pub then with open fires and excellent S&N beers. Southhill Hall is now the official residence for judges when they are attending Durham Crown Court. Back in the day the Maxim bottle had a distinctive shape, quite different to Newcastle Brown which hasn't changed. Of course both should be supped from a schooner, topped up after each quaff to keep a good head. The only picture of an old style Maxim bottle I could find is too large to post, but here's a link to it.

Had some great family holidays in Cirencester at the Caravan Club site. I used to enjoy a stroll down into the town for a sup in the Twelve Bells, when the irrascible Bob Ashley had it, great pub then.

Had a tour of Phipps brewery in Northampton, as a stag do for an old friend the other week. Nice tour and history of the brewery and lots of info on brewing in general from a very knowledgable host. With pie and mash and several beers in their own bar on site, great start to the day!

No, don't remember that one! Was good to see the processes in real life though, found it very interesting. Especially testing the products afterwards.

Very nice, and punchy at 6.5% - will stock up for a proper taster at the weekend

I'll be travelling up to Gateshead and Newcastle today, can you advise where you got this from, (presuming the seller is local-ish to you). Cheers!

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I can't recall having that one, but the only places I buy my beers are Tesco, Aldi and Home Bargains in Gilesgate, just outside of Durham. However one of the pubs I frequent in Durham is the Colpitts, which is a Sam Smith's house and I'd be surprised if they didn't have it. Most SS pubs seem to have a wide selection of their bottled beers. Perhaps give them a ring to ask if they have it and nip off the motorway on your way back home if they do? Should only put 15-20 mins on your trip, you can usually get parked in the streets nearby. Here's the number 0191 3869913. Good luck!
