Bolt Action Pens, Tactile - Bronze and Brass

Yes, another thing to collect. I've always liked a nice, heavy brass pen. Had a few by Karas Kustoms and was tempted by Wingback - being from the UK. Other makers like Tactile Turn all seem to be American. My son recently dropped my Karas EDK and the push click now doesn't work and Cult Pens no longer stock them

Anyone here have a particular favourite pen? Space pens are a bit small.

Thinly veiled WTB but if anyone has anything along these lines for sale or have any suggestions please tell

I have a Maxmadco aluminium bolt action I bought almost 10 years ago. I too dropped it and the bolt mechanism would no longer work.

These are usually manufactured with tight tolerances. Inspect the nib where the refill point comes out of the body - odds are the impact was on this point an the refill can't push past a little indent. Get something refill-sized, bend it back out, and should be good as new.

Had the same issue with a Lamy, I used an engineers scribe to adjust the nip hole and it's been fine since.

Have a look on Facebook for SJV Workshop. The guy behind the page- Steve- hand makes some lovely stuff, including bolt action pens. Top man too.

Ajoto make some excellent brass pens, bit more artisanal but excellent quality:

My EDC/chuck it anywhere pen is a Machine Era, fabulous design, can be adapted to take Montblanc refills:
