Another from la brasserie des Herbes Sauvages. A nice Pils to see on the ank Holiday. Quite hoppy for a Pils I think but still good.

Lager in possibly the worst glass style ever. I can’t believe the dimpled pint has not been phased out by now.

It is bad enough with bitter but almost criminal with a lager. I’d have asked for another glass.

It's very upsetting, I've noticed a definite increase in this fad on restaurant menus.

Just cracked open a San Miguel 0.0% alc free one. It is one of the worst I've had, it's unbearably sweet with not even a hint of anything beery.

Put a keg of that into the perfect draft machine last night. Had a pint earlier and it’s the best keg I’ve had yet. Lovely drink.

Having a couple of Sam Smith's Taddy Porter. Think some cheese and crackers are in order to compliment it.

Had a trip to Lewis and Cooper in Northallerton this week. Bought a selection of Sam Smith's. Not too sure I'd buy this one again, its not as stouty as the name suggests, more of a strong bitter (not a bad thing in my books) but at £3 a bottle I think there are more value beers out there.

Just listening to a Robbie Vincent 'Sound of Sunday Night' retrospective and feeling old.
I should know by now that alcohol and nostalgia are not a good mix.

I have to say, I’m in agreement with Paul here. I have some at home. The best jug to drink real ale out of IMO (seconded only by a good tankard). Reminds me of drinking halves of bitter shandy that my Grandad made me whilst he had a proper pint.

On the lager topic, check out the traditional Czech Budvar glasses, the jug handle’s not just a British Bitter thing!

If you’re after a good Low-No lager, try Lucky Saint. 330ml brown bottle with blue label. I find it one of the better ones.

I find Sam’s increasingly disappointing these days, save for their Porter, Imperial Russian Stout and a couple of the fruit beers. Their bitter and lager is woeful.

A couple as a blast from the past this evening. The pale ale is still a winner.

Great choices Sinner, like you I prefer the pale ale by quite a margin over the sparkling. But it has to be said that the pale ale is nothing like a British pale ale. We enjoy getting a case in for Christmas.

Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

I was in Krakow last week for work, my do the Polish have a thriving craft beer scene there. And very reasonably priced if you’re shopping in £’s!

Hala Forum on the banks of the Vistula is an excellent food and beer hall, with loads of choices and a huge outdoor area to chill on sofas and deck chairs.

We??a Krafta in the Kazimierz area had a brilliant selection and very nice pizza’s.

I motored through a good few of the beers on the wall, 300ml pours meant I got to try a lot more than if I’d done pints. The unfiltered lager (Crispy, by Funky Fluid) and the black IPA (Glaktyka Piwnix, by Podgórz) were standout.

A hand pulled New Zealand IPA for a starter this evening. It’s light and hoppy, a lovely pint.
The Mrs is on black cherry cider.
