This IPA and the Hobgoblin Gold really make for a nice drop without being nearly as pricey as the alternatives.

First time I've tried this one, it absolutely won't be my last. A fantastically flavoured IPA.

There was a mere 5 of these left in HB today, whereas there's always been a couple of dozen previously. I bought them to add to the stash, got a couple of dozen in now. I hope they don't stop selling the stuff . . .

J.W.Lees have started making a stout, and it’s cracking. Better than Guinness? Certainly better than that extra cold crap, and better than the mediocre Guinness served in most pubs.

Yes I asked for a top up!

Couple of cans this afternoon. Shindigger were founded by two University of Manchester students so I feel obliged to drink it.

Not bad, but it wouldn’t be my choice for a session.

    This one is nicer:

    .

I’ve not heard of the brewery before, they are in Lymington, apparently.

Just picked up these 4 from my local beer shop, at least two of them won't last the night...

A pair of classics! The Mud City has disappeared from the shelves in my local HB, however over the course of several visits I took a few home each time, so there's about a dozen and a half to keep me going.

I might have to hunt that one down, it has been a while since trying the "regular" Duvel however I do remember it being something decent. I'm a fan of anything with Citra hops in it

Trying out this Spanish tipple tonight, no Citra (Palisades, Bru-1 and Mosaic in this one) however it does have a dry pithy bitterness to it that I do so love.

It’s lovely. I’ve been a big fan of regular Duvel since my student days.
...It was the beer of choice for any ‘celebration’.
In the past decade I’ve developed a taste for hoppy / citrus IPAs.
So this is a timely development

Same here with regards to hoppy/citrus flavours, and I know where my nearest Morrisons is so I'll be making a trip tomorrow If you're partial to that kind of flavour profile try Burnt Mill's Citra Fog, it's not cheap at around Ł6 for a 440ml can however it's absolutely glorious.

Talking of Duvel, there used to be a bar near me that served a few Belgium beers, Duvel was one of them and Kwak another - I've got the proper Kwak glass and accompanying stand hidden away somewhere...

I'm a big fan of the Vibrant Forest Brewery, and they're doing well - now moving to bigger premises a bit further out from Lymington. As with all these smaller breweries it takes some time to get their online ordering sorted out, but they've done some great week long tap takeovers around the country.

I can only make it on Friday and even that's 50/50 at best. I've been every year since it changed venues from The Triangle Club to KEGS, I really don't want to have a blip in my attendance record!

A nice ale is the Broadside, although I haven't had one for a while. I also haven't had one of these for a while, but that's being put right as I type, dangerously smooth and quaffable for it's strength . . .

I was there from around 3pm to 7pm, it was reasonably busy when we left however the four of us that went all thought it the quietest ever Friday we've attended. And yes, it might well smell of beer when the kids get back, however when the school is called KEGS...
