1664 earlier, just finished a Peroni, just deciding on Hoegarden or some strange looking cherry beer in a paper wrapped bottle I purchased from the supermarket.

I have had said cherry beer on a previous occasion and it was very tasty but I recall Mrs Sish pronounced it "delicious" and polished it off. I think it's Belgian. The beer. Not Mrs Sish. She's a quarter Norwegian but I'm not sure which quarter...

Carling. Seriously, bloody Carling :( That was all that was left after a festive hammering.

I have made a start on the north Manchester Snozzle lake; Proper Job and Tribute, which arrives in copious quantities courtesy of all the thoughtful people who realise what a nice chap I am when Christmas present buying crosses their minds.

Had a glass of Chocolate flavoured wine with dinner (think Ruby port with a flake dipped in it), followed by a Cobra to take the taste away

Proper job and Tribute making it's way all the way up to Manchester? Both good beers

I have a full case of Tribute to tuck into with some friends when they come over.

I do love Skinners Brewery's beers though.

I'll need you to pick me up, and then run me back home if that's OK. I just live in Northumberland, so not too far for you to go ;)

Like many, I suspect, I feel I've indulged a bit too much over the last few days (food and drink).

I did have a couple of Cobras on Boxing Day evening with a curry and a Paulaner weissbier with my Pizza last night, but I'm going to have a couple of days off (and eat a lot less) as I feel decidedly bloated at the moment!

NYE, I'm the designated driver, so I'm going to make a point of doing something interesting on NYD, possibly going over to Brooklands for the annual GTG as I've never been to it before (usually - if I'm awake/sober enough - I pop down to Hartley Wintney for the NYD meet up, but it seems to have declined in quality a bit over recent years, whilst getting busier, so I'll try something different this year).

However, I do have a Christmas Ale to drink sometime, so I guess that needs to be consumed before NYE!

That's more like it, we love those Belgian beers.

But failing that I'll make do with some Oranjeboom Black 8.5%

It's a bit early (plus I'm still at work) but rest assured I'll update the post with my evening's drink choices later tonight.

Spent the night at Leicester beer festival…. Told my mates…. “This attracts a certain type, doesn’t it?”

I then had a a worrying moment of self reflection

Tried some cracking beers though, so, soon got over it!

4 cans of Carlsberg special brew,BUT I've just noticed it's no longer 9%!.

Why is that?,I'm a responsible drinker and sit on the park bench minding my own business with my mates.

I tried this the other night but it was too sweet for me.

Tonight’s beers have been a Young’s Chocolate Stout and a Marston’s Shipyard Rye IPA

Young's Chocolate Stout is a firm favourite, I love a good stout / porter.

Also love a nice porter. One of the locals do a great Plum Porter and occasionally a coffee porter. Both taste great!

Lovely Andy, one of my favourites before we left Oz.

Enjoyed a few of these earlier, we are fortunate to be close enough to Lancaster to be able to buy it locally:

I like the rum one and the caramel sort of flavoured one but not keen on the lager.

Current favourites are harvieston schehallion, punk IPA and drygate apple ale
