Champion in an Antique Sheffield Tankard. A once press gang tankard that used to have a glass bottom. Thus avoiding you accepting the Silver of the realm and thereby being pressed into service.
Ale always tastes better from a tankard.

I am ashamed to say this afternoon comprised of 6 pints of Moreti (disgusting but the only beer on tap and £6 a pint... £6 for pish)
I am now relegated to Savannah cider to take the taste away.

Hitting the Ealing the brewery tomorrow I think.

This one has been at the back of the fridge for a few weeks waiting for the right time to be consumed, after a very productive day of DIY this gem is well deserved.

Easily one of the best IPAs I've ever tried, so absolutely packed with soft tropical fruits it's unreal.

Tuesday nights usually dry but I got home from work, it was warm, the garden was inviting, so...

Have found that my favourite Sam Smiths chocolate stout is very hard to come by locally, so put an order in at Drinks Supermarket. After a busy day at work I was more than pleased to find they had been delivered.

It's a very rich beer so its a definite one-bottle-per-session rule.

I was hoping to be able to pop up the Toon on the train by now and bring back supplies of this and other delights from Fenwicks, it's only £2.49 a bottle in their drinks department! Not to worry, it won't be long, and the Crown Posada, Bridge Hotel, Red House et al await too!

Sadly the last time I was in Fenwick's, their beer selection was a shadow of its former self. No Sam Smiths to be seen and slim pickings of other offerings.

If I get a pass lately, my mission has been to get cask ale wherever possible. Bevs-wise, it’s the one thing I’ve missed most about the last years trials & tribulations.

Managed to sneak a pint of Harvey’s in at The Harp in Covent Garden and then a cheeky half of this wonderful stuff, the only cask of it in existence. Quite a thing at 8%!

Harvey’s and the wall of honour…

Then I was up at The Pembury Tavern in ‘ackney for a few beers and pizza with pals. Five Points Best (Fuggles) pouring beautifully as always.

    And the Pale Ale too…

And of course, a pint of orange dry hopped silliness, this one from Leytonstones Gravity Well…

And at the weekend I went to dinner at a friends and took some beers to share so they could try some more unusual styles.

These two went down well. Burning Sky’s Saison Anniversaire…

And Vocations Barrel Aged Imperial Kirsch Stout (basically flavours of Black Forest Gateau).

Called for couple of quick ones with middle son on way back from Costco on Saturday afternoon , first one was at Kirkstall Brewery’s taproom. I had the Ardennes - lemon and pepper Belgium pale , only slightly lemon and I didn’t get the pepper but a nice refreshing drink and only 3.8% , Arch had Three Swords , consistent as ever. We then called at Horsforth Brewery near home , I had the Good Deeds an American Amber Ale a really nice bitter style drink , Arch had a beer flight of 3 1/3rds.

A trio of Brewdogs tonight, my lad gave me 3 packs for my birthday last week. Weeny little 330ml cans, so room for something darker shortly ;-) . The Jagged Edge was a little sharp for my palate, the other 2 are very good with the Elvis Juice being the better.

It's not a craft beer or anything obscure, but yesterday evening with a burger and sweet potato fries in a local restaraunt I had 2 lovely pints of draught Peroni. Perfect. 
