Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Wee stopover in Garstang on our way down from Scotland to see family in Chipping Norton, so a tasty local Robinson Unicorn beer fest was in order in the Royal Oak!
A very acceptable 4.2% bitter!

Stayed in last night after trip to Sleights (holiday let change-over) so had sour session from fridge stock!
Fruity sour with sweetness finish.
Tangy cherry with pastry background.
Nice cherry/blackberry/blueberry mix.

Wouldn´t a snake bite and black deliver much the same flavours, experience...
I am rather fond of this drop.
A bit stronger than I usually prefer but it’s got a great crisp / sharp flavour.
After a couple of hours of hedge trimming and grass clipping this was a very welcome find at the back of the rather empty beer cupboard.
Had a trip into Otley Saturday afternoon with Mrs T, wanted to try my bus pass out ! 1st stop The Horse & Farrier now a Brew York pub , I had the Milk Stout & Mrs T the Kammy’s lager.
Then to the Black Horse a Kirkstall Brewery pub and had a Kirkstall Ruby 4x Mild and Mrs T had 1/2 of North Mango & Passion Fruit TFG
I then had a Fell Brewing Crag , a northern bitter, also very good.
We then went to the North Social bar and I had a Verdant Lightbulb , on keg but still very good, Mrs T had a Passionfruit/Stawberry sour (not sure who by and didn’t get a photo)
Lastly called in The Old Cock and I had a pint of Kelham Island Pale Rider , Mrs T on wine at this point, then over the road for bus home.

Ah, Kelham island, a cracking Brewery in Sheffield I believe, I always have a look when at Beer Festivals for Pale Rider, one of my favourites. Cheers, John B4
Something new for me tonight. Spotted while I was in Fenwick's of Newcastle. Brewed locally in Wallsend T&W.
Polly Donkin. Presented as a smooth oatmeal stout. I shall drink and report back.
Polly Donkin. Definitely a wise purchase. Dark and smooth but full bodied. Would definitely buy again. And raising funds for the RNLI with every bottle sold. Win win.
Had a bit of a tootle round on Sunday, B&Q , Wrens , M&S and Mrs T suggested calling in to Kirkstall Brewery on way home - result !
I had a Ruby 4X mild and then the Welcome to Americana red IPA , Mrs T had a couple of 2/3rds of their Plum Sour.

5.7% Hazy IPA. It is a bit punchy for the first of the night, but delicious.

In London last Friday & Saturday , managed to find a few nice beers. Craft Beer Co near Covent Garden had The Kernel Pale Mrs T a sour of some description.
Later on Saturday, after a few in various Nicholson’s establishments and food at Roka , walking back from South Kensington tube called in Zealand Arms and had Deya beer on!
Sunday at home had a bbq and a few beers, Northern Monk delivered Saturday.

Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Tynt Meadow. As mentioned in a previous post, I picked up a few different beers on my last visit to Fenwick's at Newcastle.
This is the last of them, a dark Trappist ale brewed in England. At 7.4% it's not a session beer. It was surprisingly fizzy out of the bottle and quite murky in the glass, it didn't clear down. It's very (very) malty and much sweeter than I would usually like. Mrs Sish tasted it and said it's something she would drink. There's not a strong alcohol taste even at the high APV and overall its pleasantly pleasant. Not sure I'd buy it again though.

Mythos for me at the moment. I’ve just returned from Skiathos where it’s fair to say I had quite a few and got a taste for it.
Just called for a quickie (or 1 & 1/2!) in Three Swords on way home
LVL Up tastes 7up ish with sherbety finish ? DD pale like , can’t remember what it was like when was a youngster but had it when 15/16!

It seems I have found a new favourite from the Chelmsford Brew Co. Top notch stuff

Did The DD work wonders? I seem to remember it was quite (by todays standards) a "weak" beer without much flavour but conveniently available in "party sevens". I'm assuming this is a tribute act, what's it like now? Cheers, JohnB4
Hi John B4 , I found it a nice drink , not hoppy and malty finish. Seem to think the original was more amber coloured more bitter like , though not that sure really!

One of each of these tonight. Both good but the Strata was more interesting it being a single hop. I might have to search out more of single hop beers.
Few from last weekend
Pint of Kirkstall Jasper in Kings followed by a Theakston’s Old Peculiar in the Tavern.
One at home Sunday, as it said on the label, raspberry and chocolate.
Quick one Monday walking the dog , Dry Hopped Three Swords in the Three Swords. Definitely different from the normal Three Swords, more hoppy than the normal brew.

This is all my sister has:
After the first one I didn't really mind the second. After the second I am ready for bed.
Some from the weekend

If you can’t get to Munich… All of the 6 official beers with glass plus two selected for multiples as the best. The Paulaner is the one voted best of festival.
Dog walk via Granville’s last night (£3 cask night!)
Kirkstall Jasper on , a favourite , and then North Brewing Seasons Reverse a cracking trad bitter.

Yep. various places like Beers of Europe do them but many are OOS for the mixed packs. I got these for https://www.beermerchants.com/big-6-...est-mixed-case. Came very quickly and well packed in that box. Tried the Paula er tonight and it is top notch.
The Criterion in St Andrews offers a very tasty 80/-, which is their own ale.
Malt and coffee overtones, but not too dry or sharp. Delicious, and my go to choice, especially on approach to Autumn/winter!

Enjoying a pint of Gorgeous George in my new pint pot.
