Looks like you are drinking that out of a beaker, I'm not so sure that you aren't in the lab.

Yesterday I was given a sneak tasting straight from the cask of the stout that should be on the bar for tomorrow's visit . . .

A new one from the local brewer. Would be pretty good if the glass didn't have some soap residue inside. Oh well, I'll have to open another.

Feet up and a couple of bottles of Marstons Old Empire IPA for me whilst watching the rugby ( Saints v Leeds).

I don't generally drink during the week but the past two days at work have been long and hectic. Saw this in Morrisons a few weeks ago. Very fruity and full of flavour.

    It’s grim.
7.1% is far too strong for me.
    Ended up pouring it away.
Ghost ship is now in the glass and is much more drinkable.

Had this last night , forgot to take picture with the beer , it’s a very dark beer but is larger style with smokey taste and malty background. I thought it tasted fine but don’t think I’d have more than a couple.

I'm visiting York tomorrow. One of my destinations will be House of the Trembling Madness to peruse their extensive ale stocks. I'll have a look for the Marmite beer, I quite fancy it.

I'm not sure where we will be drinking, I leave all such matters up to my niece's husband.

Suffice to say I'm looking forward to a few pints.

So no Marmite Ale was to be found, but I did stock up on the usual suspects and found these two which are new to me. I like to start an evening with a TT Landlord so am intrigued with the dark version.
Equally interesting is the Yorkshire Pudding beer. Might be a hit, might be a miss. I'll let you know.

Yorkshire Pudding ale was... pleasant. A classic bright Yorkshire bitter but nothing to make me want to buy it again.

Landlord dark is the new name for Ramtam, allegedly, which is a favourite of mine. Been meaning to try it to see if it is indeed the same

Had couple of beers out early evening, 2/3 pt of cherry stout followed by a couple in Town Street Tavern of Horsforth Brewery’s Night Ryder Black Rye IPA. Then can of this at home with take-away.

It's actually Ninkasi, Oatis is the name of the brew

I'm not particularly experienced with oatmeal stouts so can't compare like with like though I'd certainly drink this one again.

Well, the dark nights are upon us again. The first pan of broth has been made and devoured with stotties, so time to start laying in some dark ones for the coming months. I'll be having a couple of these after a quick quencher . . .
