It was a tough choice from the four I posted earlier, but here we are, a light start in all respects . . .

Trying this , on draught at a bottleshop not far from me so wanted to try before committing to 3 pints worth, let it warm up as not getting any strawberry or vanilla though bitter chocolate there. Once warmed up more chocolate and some strawberry/vanilla creaminess. Not bad though don’t know if I’ll get 3 pints of it!

It was great to see a few pals after too many weeks away. The small number of regulars in there at 1.30pm made distancing a non issue. Sanitiser on the wall as you walk in, sign the book with your name and phone number, payment contactless, free mask to take for your bus ride home if needed.

Splendid. Bet that went down well!

Just the one can for me tonight, Amundsen's Peanut Butter, Caramel Crisp and Jam Doughnut Desert in a Can. I've got to be careful that I don't just down the lot, not only does it taste exactly as it says on the can (and it really does, it's delicious) the 11.5% ABV might go to my head...

    Amundsen

Great beer, have you tried Cascade and their Stout? Both fantastic.

Good call. I genuinely think it’s the best new beer they’ve produced in a long while.

Finally getting a holiday after a lot of stressful, challenging and worrying weeks. One of my dogs was at deaths door and - thank all the gods - he’s made a miraculous recovery.

Was supposed to head to Cornwall on Friday for a week but delayed a day to be sure (final vet checkup was Thursday evening), so after getting a positive report I boshed down these two in quiet celebration...

So yesterday we got up early and yomped down the A303 and by mid-afternoon were in our beloved St Mawes for a pint of draught cask Proper Job. As Paul Hogan once said, it was “like an angel pissin’ on me tonsils”...

Today I had a fantastic day. Up early and out on the road bike for a ride with bro in law, back in time for a lobster lunch.

And this afternoon, some pints of Tribute in the sun, at the Rising Sun.

Followed by a lovely cheese board supper and a refreshing palate cleanser from Vault City.

And a couple more, cos it’s the holiday, innit...

Solid State IPA remains one of the best beers Verdant have released this year.

And this little fruity, dry and zesty number from Brew By Numbers was smashing.

Got the growler filled with Ridgeside’s Cherry Darling sour , great on the sunny weekend we’ve had .

Also had their Boom & Crust Stout , another cracker!

Then as my son did with theirs once before, mixed them together! , surprisingly good.

I don’t, but 4 for £7 in the Co-op ain’t bad. That said, given the the choice and seeing as I’m here, I’d rather get a pint of cask in the sun if poss!

I had some of this in bottles in my trolley in Tesco earlier (4x500ml for £6 / £3 per litre) when I spied it in canned form (10x440ml reduced from £11 to £9 / £2.05 per litre). Very nice too . . .

Monday to Thursday are normally beer free for me.
However I have been stuck in front of the lap top for 8.5 hours so I deserve a pint (well a bottle)
This is a nice crisp summer gently sparkling ale.

Looking at the photo I am not the only thing on the p1ss... so is the table!

Last night was our final one in the lovely village of St Mawes. I shall miss Cornwall but can now start checking off the weeks until we return in September.

So what went down with the setting sun?

And this Belgian classic, with a cheeseboard...
