I spotted a pilsner style brew in Sainsburys which I wasn't familiar with and was a bit put off when the label showed Heineken were involved with it . However , I braved a bottle and, really rather nice. This one https://www.maltsmithsbrewing.co.uk/our-beers/lager

Quite lathered after slaving in a hot kitchen, something light to cool the inner fires . . .

I'm not the only one here to enjoy pint of this:

Just wish I could get half an hour to enjoy it in peace.

For those of you near Manchester, the Marble Arch Inn in Rochdale Road is probably the best pub in the world. Well, when they haven’t run out of Manchester Bitter that is (it’s the best beer they do).

I bought a pack of Belgian beers from Beerwulf a few weeks ago and picked out the weakest I had left to go with my dinner.

It was one of these :

    http://brtimmermans.be/en/products/t...bicus-blanche/

Wow! I've tried quite a few beers, but that really is 'different'.

After the initial shock it was quite refreshing, although on balance it probably tastes more like a really bitter lemonade than a beer.

Interestingly one site described it as tasting 'like a goat smells' and I can kind of see what they mean!

Well, noticed too late as I was going through the checkout in Home Bargains today that they have the Mud City stout back in stock, so I’ll be back round in the morning. I can now enjoy one without feeling sad . . . ;-)

This. To start off. But as I'll be the Oncall site engineer from Monday, I may be having more than just the one.

Black hops are yet to disappoint me with any of their brews. Their saison was incredible.

I could have contributed an IWC 3227 today... great to find a pub that served good beer with pickled eggs and had a coal fire to boot, a rare thing indeed these days

Proper old school, still a firm favourite.

However preferred it more when they were a little more discreet about the triangle being the first registered trademark.
