Keeping it plain and simple tonight with some bottles of Black Sheep Ale. 4 for £6 in ASDA. The quintessential Yorkshire bitter.

I do love a quality real ale, so it is a little embarrassing to say 3 tins of Stella so far, after enjoying a blast in the Ariel Atom. All whilst very much appreciating that today we were scheduled to be working all hours, got to love the odd pandemic once in a while. Can cope this year, but please let’s not have second one

Proper lathered again turning those pedals earlier, and as I'm trying to keep my body clock in tune during these disorientating times the first of a few to remind me it's Friday . . .

May I suggest you are doing it wrong? You are supposed to drink it not lather yourself in it.

Tapatalk has apparently capped monthly uploads, so whilst I’d love to share pics of the following, I can’t at the moment.

Nevertheless, it’s been a good week so far thanks to bank Hol and 4 days of work that whizzed by...

    - Marble, Metric
    - Vault City Brewing, Tropical Sour
    - North Brewing Co x Apex Brewing Company, DIPA
    - Left Handed Giant (Brewpub), Hazy Pale
    - DEYA, Sunshine IPA, and
    - The Kernel Brewery, Export India Porter

I’ve a big hunk of pork on the Egg that’s been smoking since 2300hrs last night, so this afternoon and evening’s likely to see some lager and hoppy pale action.

Got some good stuff from Verdant, Track, DEYA, Cloudwater and LHG (amongst others), so it’ll be an enjoyable one. Tomorrow mornings hangover will be a bit

Be well all, hope you’re drinking in sunshine this weekend

I've found that Adnams sell a black lager, Kostritzer.

    I've also found a 20% discount code, BEACHHUT20 .

Now then, if ordering a case of this lager (24x 330ml @ bottles £27.99), plus a case of their Blackshore Stout (12x 500ml bottles @ £20.99) to effectively halve the p&p of £4.99, then applying the discount code to the products, astute man maths shows that the lager is £1.04 per bottle and the stout is £1.61 per bottle. Adnams are effectively paying the consumer to drink their products. I just received a case of stout yesterday, so I'll have to wait a reasonable time (a week) to throw Mrs Mag off the scent before ordering.

I will have to try their black lager.

I ordered another job lot today!
    2 cases of Blackshore
    2 of Ease Up
    A case of mosaic
    A case of New England
Then the Mrs bunged 2 bottles of gin on top! She doesn't drink!!!... But she liked the bottles!

As an aside if you like a gin and tonic you can’t go wrong with their gin. First Rate is First Rate.
(I should be on a retainer from them)
Adnams is by far and away my favourite brewery. Their pubs are great as well! It’s just a shame they are miles away.
My local large brewer is Fullers (< 3 miles) and I can’t stand their beer.

I've had some excellent bottles out of Home Bargains. The best value was/is the Sadler's Mud City Stout, 6%, 500ml, 99p and a lovely drink. It was on for a while last year, disappeared then reappeared earlier this year, I've still got 3 bottles left to savour.

Very nice but it rases a question...
Do people start light and go dark or start with a stout and end with something lighter.

I prefer to start with a stout and end with an IPA / lager. I prefer the more complex taste to start off with with a light fresh finish.

Am am obviously over thinking it.

Light then dark. Some of the heavy stuff just confuses my taste buds. A bit like scotch, start with the lighter then move onto the Lagavulin.

That's a good looking trio you have there, by chance I started with a Greene King earlier , an Abbot Ale , staying with the tried and tested for now . . .

Same for me, something light to quench the thirst, then on to darker things for the more intense flavours.

Interesting use of applied maths there. Might have to mooch over to their website for a gander. Could do with a change of beer.
