Away up the Toon earlier for some art and scran. Amazingly the buses and trains each way were on time! Off the train and down the road to the Bridge for a quick sharpener pre art . . .

    Art.

Then to the Mean Eyed Cat for a couple pre scran . . .

Went out for my daughter's other Half's birthday today, to a local pub, which I've discounted as over priced gastropub fare after a meal there some years ago.

Had changed quite a lot, excellent menu now, with proper pub food, not too expensive, but also ABK Weissbier which I'd not come across before, but was excellent.

Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

Next on my list. I do like a Hazy Jane and at 61p per can, I like it even more.

    https://discountdragon.co.uk/product...er-330ml-cans/

Edit - 72 tinnies on the way to me which will keep me going for a few months.

Be quick it is on HUKD and while I was on the site the stock was depleting about 10 cases per minute.

Looks good Alan, and doubtless tastes it too! A cheeky 5.5%er from Lidl to get the evening started before powering up the Arcam/Pioneer/Dynaudio bits and choosing some music . . .

The well cooled Saltaire went down nicely after a couple of hours in the sun getting the lawn into shape, just in time to watch the Toon dispose of Brentford, now then what next from this selection?

Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

Good Friday was well spent traversing the breweries and fine pubs of Lewes.

It’s likely that >80% of the beers I drank before I left for University (and plenty since), came out of this building. One of 10 remaining Victorian Tower Breweries no less…

    Also visited Beak…

And Abyss, but I’m afraid I was in an advanced state of refreshment by that point and took no pics.

Some lovely pints in The Gardeners, The Snowdrop Inn, The Lewes Arms & The Brewers Arms.

Popped into the Harvey’s shop for some bring-homes before leaving yesterday, tucking into a couple today.

    Available Thursday.

Leffe is actually cheaper in Sainsbury's though. The other less easily available brands may be worth it a punt?

Lovely day today, went by bus to Bury St Edmunds, Cannon microbrewery and pub for lunch to include a pint of Black Pig 4.2% Stout, followed by a trip to Nethergate's 'Creche' for a pint of Eons 5.5% Milk Stout in their upstairs lounge, return bus to Sudbury to meet some friends at the Wagon and a couple of pints of Nethergate 4% County to round off the day, sorry no pics, Cheers, John B4

Anyone else get in on the deal? Should keep me going for the weekend, lol.

The cans were a bit battered and bruised, hence the reason for the hefty discount, but contents are just as you would expect. Under the stairs they go.

That looks a cracking pint, cask is delicious when served and kept properly.

It got me thinking if anyone on here uses twitter for beer tweets and we follow each other there but unaware of the crossover here.

It's superb. I just had to have a 2ᶮᵈ, and as it's started raining I'm having a 3ʳᵈ before the train back to the Palatinate!

Great choice Alan. I drank cases of the stuff during lockdown, they had a good discount and free postage.

Called in to The Hop Shack on way home tonight and had a pint of Brew York’s Brew York-E chocolate stout, really nice chocolate flavour.

    Had a couple at home

Then the Brew York special (probably should have had this a while back!) chocolate vanilla sweet finish.

    Solid session there.

Aurora Pils from Dead Weight, Hoppit Session Bitter from Loddon and 20W Moon from Verdant here so far. Got my eye on some ice cream and an Impy Stout before calling it a night…

Up the Toon to pick up an order from the North East Art Collective, pop in if you're up here there's some excellent work to view and buy. The Mean Eyed Cat is just around the corner, incredibly rude not to pop in . . .

Walked over town to get nearer the station only to find that the Bridge was shut for an apparent cellar refurb! Not to worry, nipped down Castle Stairs to Sandhill and along to the Crown Posada . . .

Not required at work this afternoon so thought I’d call at The Highlander ( always known as Highland Laddie when I was younger) closing tomorrow, went in as an apprentice late ‘70’s when at BT , full of engineers Fridays from Westgate Exchange, great pint of Tetleys in the day!
Pint of Back Sheep and a Leeds Pale.
