Well, library time again, so . . .

It would have been rude not to. Brewed locally and very, very nice.

Belgian Beer (Ardennes) La Chouffe ('The Gnome').

I can safely say that one bottle is enough to stop you from driving a car... La Chouffe is a very 'light' beer when you see it in the glass, but that changes when you've emptied the bottle (one bottle fits a glass). It is heavy stuff.

I like La Chouffe, bought several bottles when shopping in France, great tipple, they have had it in the Belgian Monk in Norwich too.

Ecku is a nice one to try as well.

I bought an Oktoberfest mixed box from Beerwulf and had a Brlo Helles last night.

Extremely tasty for a Lager, recommended.

One day I might get to meet Bob in here for a pint:

Some M&S single variety hop beers for me tonight.
I especially like the beers brewed by Adnams
Well worth a try if you have not already.
Citra and Mosaic are really lovely.

They are the cheapest pubs in town. Easily 2 quid cheaper than any other pub.
They are always an interesting building as well. The Princess Louise being my favourite as it’s still and old gin palace in style. (Now there is an idea for a thread. Intresting pubs in the UK)

I hope you are doing the cock inn (love the spinning screens on the bar) the Rising Sun near Smithfield and the one tucked down the mews that nobody knows is there (forgotten the name!)

Treated myself to a nice selection of beers from Fenwick's Food Hall today. Think it will be an ideal night tonight for wood burning in the chimnea and a tasty beer and scotch combo always adds to the enjoyment.

That's a fine selection, not a fruit beer fan myself, but the Imperial Stout and Taddy Porter should be tasty.

^ 66 was a great vintage, often overshadowed by the legendary 63's. This will still have bags of life left in it. Enjoy, it will be a gorgeous drop.

    Sorry for the late update.
Started in the Rising Sun as its close to the office
On to the Crown & Sugarloaf; old Cheshire Cheese and Cittie of York followed, finishing in the Princess Louise and the Crown
It was a heavy afternoon / evening.
I started the session on the stout, progressed to Nut Brown, then the Indian Pale (lovely beer) and ended up on some of the fruit beers as I was banjaxed by about 8pm.
All in all a good way to spend the day.

Well, got round sharpish, finished up in the LD Mountain Centre trying a Fjallraven jacket for size. Of course when leaving it’s a smart left turn down the bank to the Crown , some lovely Black Gate Bitter from the Hadrian Border Brewery. Note 1941 record player in background, playing some nice blues . . .

Looks good! If you have time visit the Blue Bell or the Minster Inn, two gems, but opposite sides of town.
