That’s a fine brace there Alan! I’ve not seen the reserve IPA before, I’ll keep an eye out for it. By chance I've just necked a bottle of the ordinary version . . .

Finished two solid weeks of On-call (including a call out on Tuesday night that saw me getting home from work at 3.30am).

Time for a few pints of Guinness then a tasty dish of Balti Lamb.

Chose these other companions for my long train journey. Thought I'd try something new.

    The Laid Back was lovely.

The Cornish Saison was pretty foul. Cinnamon. In beer. WTF? I couldn't finish it. I tried but I couldn't stomach it. Been burping cinnamon burps ever since.

M&S do some great beers. Their single hop beers are tasty. They also use Adnams to brew a few which can’t be a bad thing.

They seem to use number of brewers which I think is a good idea. I just wish I had chosen something different to the Cornish one. I don't expect to have to check the ingredients list when buying beer but I've learnt that lesson now. I look forward to trying some more of theirs (perhaps not on a train again, can't have people thinking I am Dianne Abbott ).

Did a bit of a pick and mix at Morrison’s earlier this evening and ended up with this fruity little number...

Our World Tour of Scotland wouldn’t be complete without a few jars of delicious Hanging Tree 80/- at the Benleva Hotel in Drumnadrochit. The Hanging Tree micro brewery is round the back!

Last night I tried an IPA from Aldi infused with grapefruit......it was surprisingly nice.

Might have to get some more.

I buy it in Tesco Alan, 4 for £6. Let me know if you haven't found any before your next trip up and I'll bring some down to the Vic. There's a Tesco in the market place that's licensed but I'm not sure what their range of beers is like.

Not beer but a lovely Perry from Lilley’s called Bee Sting. Goes nicely with the muggy weather and a Seiko Recraft!
