    New arrival from the States

I’ve been after a watch issued to the US military for a while and when this popped up on eBay I put in a reasonable offer and it was accepted, then the wait began, anxiously watching the tracking, this morning the tracking said it had cleared customs and was ready for delivery, well, being Sunday I expected it to arrive tomorrow morning but as I sat having lunch there was a knock at the door and a nice fellow had brought it to me today, so enough waffling I hear you say, what is the watch?

It’s a Stocker and Yale (SandY) 184 dated 27 July 84 I’m not 100% on the movement but I think it’s a 1 jewel Pin pallet but it’s keeping great time so far, the only minus point is the cracked crystal but that’s doable in time.

    Anyway pictures

Oh and if anyone has a crystal, or knows of one, don’t be shy

    New arrival from the States

    They are nice little watches.
Re the crystal the I have no idea but they are cheap enough to buy one and use it for parts. (Or at least they were when I bought mine a few years ago)
I think the movement in these might be a bit better than you think.
I thought it was a ETA base movement.
Just don't get it wet! They had minimal water resistance when new so they have even less now

    A good link for reference

Great looking watch and a very informative read, hope to get a SandY sometime in the future.
    I have a Traser P5900 it’s poor relation.
    Thanks.

I also have the P5900, it’s a great little watch, in fact it’s my daily wearer

You're up early, wet the bed?

Nice watch buddy, is it mineral or plastic glass? Flat or domed? Easy to get replace ment if sized right on eBay.

    Cheers, Bob.

I think it’s a plastic crystal, it’s definitely flat, the problem is plucking up the courage to do it

I like a watch that has “a little character” worn and loved….I like it!

Send it round, I'll have a dig at it.
I have an assortment of hammers, from sledge down to toffee.
