Thread: Armida A12 vs Steinhart Ocean One 39

Armida A12 vs Steinhart Ocean One 39

I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on these two.

Both are a decent size (for me) and both from well-respected micro-brands (Armida less so, perhaps).

Unfortunately neither are readily available unless I pay full whack to get them imported.

Does anyone have any experience with Armida?

Why would you have to import the Steinhart when the UK main agent has it in stock

Good point, I didn't think of that.

I have a couple of Armida's and A6 and and A9 they're both great watches, but I can't comment on customer service as I haven't needed any. In terms of delivery/customs - I ordered both on a Sunday and they were delivered to me in the UK on Wednesday/Thursday. Did get a Fedex bill for customs after the event but it was a pleasant surprise in both cases - only a few £. Hope that helps?

I was in a similar bind a few months back and went for a steinhart because I thought I would prefer eta movement to the nh35 which is in the armida. Thinks no about it since I wonder if I was right or just showing my prejudice. Is there anyone who can give any definitive insight as to whether one movement is better than any he other

Steinhart is EU source, so no import fees.

I've found that Armida watches are better built than Steinharts, also less imperfections on the dial and hands. You do get an ETA and Swiss Made with the Steinhart though if that means anything to you.

I would go with the Armida.

EDIT... I see Armida are offering the ETA with the A12. I would still go for the Seiko movement.
