    Excellent question Dave.

Currently I have this many G-Shocks. That's 6, plus the spare in the cupboard, therefore 7 in total.

    They are:
GD-350 the positive version bought on-line from America
    GW-5000-1JF on the combi
    GMW-6900 on the combi
DW-5600HR-1ER on the combi - that's the negative square with white text and prevents me from spending £500 on the GW-5035A-1, which is a negative 5000.
    DW-5600-MS on the combi
    DW-6900-MS on combi

As you say they don't count. Luckily you didn't ask how many you've had, which is another number altogether!

    Cheers

    David

I've had a few but never kept them. They are either too big or the digits are too small.

I have a Timex equivalent that I wear every now and again - the digits are larger and therefore readable on that.

  11. #11
I've got 4 but i only wear 1.... must sell the others and clear the drawer space.

You've got very similar taste to me mr dk

Only thing is now i am starting to move away from digital as my ageing eyesight sometimes struggles now to read my trusty 6900 at night with the EL backlight
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

Just the one a GW 5000 on a combi which is my beater.

Had a few others mainly ABC for fell walking etc but moved on as not as good as the Garmin/Suunto options.Probably get lynched for that comment but it's true.

I know what you mean. :) The GD-350 is easily the best when it comes to readability, without being too large and clownish, which some of the larger models quickly become. The Suuntos offer some nice large screens but not all have the reliability of the Gs. Perhaps a nice slim pro-trek would be in order? I've always had pure digi but the PRG-600Y-1ER anadigi does seem interesting.

You are quite correct, David. As I'm sure that you are aware, the latter six are the G-Shocks flight-qualified by NASA for space missions.

The first two are my 'everyday' G-Shocks. I'm also a big fan of the GD350-8 although the time zone for Caracas is incorrect since Maduro decided to abandon the Chávez era half hour offset.

  23. #23
Currently have 3 though have tried at least 6 or 7 others.

The GW-3000 has been with me for a good few years and is the watch I've owned the longest from my collection, it's scuffed up and covered in fine paint splatter but still keeps on ticking.

The 5610 is worn when playing badminton or knocking around the house, the 5000 is for when I fancy something a little smarter.

Every now and again I feel like getting myself another 5xxx, probably one of the coloured case versions.

  24. #24
Too many - I think 8, but it could be more. I haven't done a group shot for a while. I have a bit of an eclectic colourful collection. The key ones:

    Frogman Navy,
    Burton Rangeman
    Krink
DGK King Casio (never worn - its massive, purple and I really need to sell it)

    4. 3 "square" ones and a riseman. Think I might start collecting more square ones. And, no, I don't count them.

I also really like the positive GD-350, which for some unaccountable reason is not available from UK resellers. Great display, great backlight, animated world time locations and many of them.

As I was saying to Dave, I would love a GW-5035A-1JR, which is the nearest thing you can find to the very rare GW-5000-B but at the moment, it's too expensive given my other Gs and the matt black strap and bezel would not match the darker combi-bracelet that I prefer. If you use it (as you should) it could be tricky to find replacement bezels and straps. It is a looker though.

I've just the one, an 8900 - good for cycling and also when I go to the flicks as it is the only watch I have with a backlight.

I have three, the first a digital (5600??), then an analogue (G219??) and then an AWG-M100B-1AER, which is a sensible size, solar, radio sync, and analogue. The first two have hardly ever been worn and should be on SC, but I just have never got around to it. The third, final, one gets a lot of weekend use and abuse, which is probably what they are all about.

I have two but am put off getting more because of the date being in American format. Should be able to change it!

I've got over 20. Maybe over 30. Need to get pictures of them at some point.

Wearing MT-G today. I stopped wearing big watches a couple of years ago, but this one I love, even though it's huge and garish.

So many G shocks. I have and love my GW 5000 and feel a totally unnecessary need for an anadigi G Shock. Are there any which are less than 50mm lug to lug? Most look huge!

Only the rescue red for me.

Comes kitesurfing, snowboarding, sailing and car fiddling with me.

Has the tides too, so super useful at stopping me getting left out in the mud.

Thanks for posting that because it's enabled me to decide that much as I like the look and functions of the new Mudmaster, I could not get away with it, even though I'm sure it's very comfortable for something so large.
Can you tell me about the Orange GW-5610? Is it a rescue series?

The Mudmaster is not IMO even comfortable for its size. It's just about wearable at best. And HUGE it is. The Gulfmaster on the other hand is very comfortable, especially with the bracelet and its superb stepless micro adjustment.

The orange one is a GW-M5610MR-4ER. It is indeed sometimes called "rescue orange" or even "SAR", but I must admit that I don't know if it's offially so, and not even if there is an official rescue series. MarkO of this parish was once looking for one for his son and I bought this on a whim while I was trying to find a suitable candidate for him.

Ive just let my mudmaster go to a friend because he’s been ogling it for ages but couldn’t justify the price so i let him have it at a silly price really which is fine he’s a good mate. However after seeing this thread I realise for the first time since being 15 I haven’t got a gshock in my collection I will be watching SC like a hawk now lol

I've looked at that puppy in the past, it does seem to meet all my requirements, and i think it's pretty handsome. It's the only g shockalike that has ever reminded me of a rolex explorer. The only issue being I'd really have to try one out to see if it's not too big /ridiculously huge for me, most of the recent protreks seem to be. Big bonus with this model is that you can get oem fabric straps and after a bit of googling i even found a faux leather one. Now, if they did a composite bracelet for it i might just be pulling the trigger on that bad boy. They also do one with a steel bezel and positive display , i think that's my favourite version.
