It’s easy. Steve’s a dick in real life but a lovable one who is straight and proper and is happy to be called one too without taking offence.

Have to admit I`m very surprised to learn that Sarky = Burnsey, but the evidence sounds conclusive to me.
I`ve met Steve a couple of times and found him to be OK, totally different from his forum persona which seemed to be based on conflict. Why he chooses to be like that is a mystery, but the internet gives people an opportunity to be whoever they want to be.
Why he decided to create the Sarky character will remain a mystery, and now he's banned he can`t give the forum an explanation even if he wished to. I guess it's all been a big wind-up and he's had a good laugh at the expense of many of us, personally I don`t see the attraction to acting like that and neither does Eddie. It's disrespectful to the forum and a definite red card offence in my opinion.
Getting yourself banned from TZ takes some doing, but several notable members have managed it. Burnsey's the latest and I'm sure there will be more. Personally I disagree strongly with the dual identity thing or rejoining the forum under a different name following a ban, If you're banned you're banned and that should be it.

He had a sharp tongue no doubt and some of what he typed did make me laugh and cringe in equal measures but to say that he could take is just plain wrong, from what I read the “personal attack” joker card always came out whenever the ‘attackee’ became the attacker.
That seems both weird and snide in equal measure.
Really don't get the thrill somebody gets from pretending to be somebody they're not, especially when the alter ego isn't exactly flattering. And to make matters worse, lies to friends in the process.

He's taken the piss out of the forum and many of the membership, that's beyond dispute, but does that equate to a lack of integrity or merely a warped sense of humour? He's not done anyone any harm, but he's gained some sense of satisfaction from what he's done.
Remember, it's only a watch forum..........no-one got hurt!

However what would he be saying now if it were someone else? I think we know the answer to that.
There seem to be some people on here finding it acceptable because it's good ole Burnley yet would vilify anybody else.
He lied outright to some people who considered him to be a personal friend. That's got to hurt. I also think that "taking the piss" out of the forum is hurtful and damaging to the whole community. I'd say harm is done, even if he didn't do anything illegal.
This isn't only a watch forum. It's a place where we all spend perhaps considerable amounts of our precious time and even some of our money. This place is as much a part of our lives as the places in the "real world" we frequent. What Steve did here is just as unpleasant as would be a bloke who turns aggressive at a party and then throws up on the floor before the host throws him out. And every time the bloke crawls back in with puke down his shirtfront gets more and more unpleasant.

Interestingly, or not, the Sky IP addresses all locate to the Liverpool area, the Murphx (Daisy Communications) one locates to North Yorkshire area.
I dont know Steve. I liked some of his posts and other ones not so much.
He was a very fair seller on SC and passed on many good watches at "old" forum prices.
I can't understand how anyone could be bothered to create a separate on-line persona.
Shame we have got to this stage.
Or he could have served in HM Forces and like most of us, have our deamons. Never judge a book by it's cover, open it up to find out the reason.

Taffytoon's name was Mart IIRC. There are some similarities with Burnsey; both seemed quite normal then turned very into very angry weirdos. Burnsey is one of only 2 or 3 people I have had on ignore, this was based on his incessant drum beating getting on my tits. Taffytoon was as mad as a sack of wet cats.
Are both his personas banned then? Or could he technically dispute all this under one of them?
Both Burnsey as well as sarky are banned now. Not VolvomanUK/Fords.

Was he really in the Netherlands the same week as Sarkys post with the Netherlands IP addy? One person in touch with him obviously seems to think he was.
That is one coincidence too far after sharing a MINIMUM of 4 different UK IP addys
