Many thanks for the heads up. Just ordered mine.
I'd been torn between these and the Bose QC35s but at this price it's a no brainer!
Sony MDR-1000X for £190 on Amazon.
Talked about in this thread for instance.
Many thanks for the heads up. Just ordered mine.

Thanks for heads up from me too... just ordered a pair.
Damn this forum I now own yet more headphones lol
These arrived today, wow is all I can say absolutely superb in a house with 3 young kids I think god invented them it’s pure bliss
These are the mk1 not mk2 though. The mk2s are the best in that category
Yes but the mkii's weren't on offer for almost half price and after reading a few reviews the mkii certainly dont appear to be worth the extra imo

Sounds like a stupid question, and not serious, but it is. Will these help cancel out the wife shouting, nagging and generally having a go at me. If I wear these and pretend to be listening to music etc? Don't really listen to much music nowadays, so could pretend it's a audio book.
Bought a pair of these on ebay for commuting
Sony Headphones MDR-ZX110NC Overhead Noise Cancelling Headset MDR-ZX110NA
Search on ebay (for some reason the link in my post isnt working...)
Theyre customer returns apparently - but guaranteed.
About the best £20 Ive spent since the 2014 Grand National.
Noise cancelling headphones are much better at cancelling out bassy background roars and hums such as train and plane ambient noise, and not very good at cancelling trebly noise such as speech and nagging wives.
I wear mine when working at home and they help, but I wish they would do a better job at cancelling out the kids!
They ‘cancel’ noise by creating a sound wave of opposite phase to the noise. Obviously this only works well if the offending noise is regular in nature but not for unpredictable speech and such like.
Cracking price for the Sony MDR-100ABN on Amazon, £139 at the moment. They were £230 a few weeks ago
