Arrived home to find some Tudor style NATO straps had landed from AliExpress…

Pretty good for the price IMHO.

Barton strap; much more comfortable and pliable than the original and looks rather nice as well.

Enjoying this FKM-rubber / leather hybrid on the Traser P99 very much: surprised me how slim and supple it is, rare for hybrid straps IME:

    £18 on ebay.

A real mix of styles/utility, but I like this combo - I've put my 7806 on an Erica's strap.

Ha. To be fair, I think it's black, but the black/navy difference on these straps is very slight!

That's a nice one, Paul, but I've already done enough up Erica for bits of expensive elastic! As it were.

    - yep, fair-enough, their prices are surely some kind of assault on the wallet region!

  13. #2863
Dammit it IS navy. Ah well, I only noticed when I put it next to a truly black one!

  14. #2864
This arrived last week and imo suits the “ Tool” watch look.

That does look like a great combo. I have history for buying black watches, realising that I like them in the hand but not on my wrist and selling them for a loss but the urge to buy a black/DLC Luminor is strong.

Just received my new Toshi made from a limited edition goat leather. Beautifully soft straight from the off, and the usual brilliant craftsmanship and service from Rich.

I think it’s a great match for the anthracite dial and silver sub-dials…

Been living with a couple of grey rubber straps on my recently-acquired gen 2 Monster:

    ND slicone -

    Plain silicone -

Both are really nice quality for silicone, good colour density and neither act as lint magnets. I gave both a good scrub in hot water to remove any mould-release oil and chemical residue.

The ND accommodates Seiko 'fat boy' springbars, has better ventilation and tucks in closer to the watch head for a seamless fit. It's also arguably a slightly more authentic choice.

The plain strap is better shaped for the Monster having a wider 'flare' (to 26mm from 18mm), has a much better quality buckle, flexes better in the corrugated part and was half the price of the ND (and is now reduced again to just over £5!).

Very pleased with both, but also have a black FKM in broadly the same style on its way, so we'll see what wins-out in the end.

The black FKM arrived yesterday, lovely quality, heavier and thicker than either of the silicone straps, so also a mite stiffer and less comfortable, but not by any means uncomfortable. Feels like it'll survive the next ice age...

    Just over £15 from here.

You could get that same one in blue, use one part from each and have a pepsi trap too.

Very nice combination. It’s a strap profile, leather finish and colour that I really like. Do you mind sharing what it is? Thanks.

I thought I’d try this on a newly arrived grey suede (for a bit of a change) …

    Not bad IMHO

The perfect strap - watch combination THREAD

A trouser-matching NATO from… I forget. One of the American suppliers. The Watch Steward or something.
Lovely quality, but NOT the perfect combo.
To be honest, I am really after the perfect rubber strap but frustratingly I cannot quite find it for this piece.
Tried a seiko waffle and tropic, but did not wow me. Would love a fitted but nobody makes one that fits (some of the Zealande and high end makes might, bit to expensive to just have a punt!) or one of the NDs like Earl’s above - but the wider-than-the-lugs thing wouldn’t work on this I don’t think.

I've not tried one myself (yet), but have you looked at YellowDog straps for rubber natos? Does nato/zulu styles as well as tropic, rally and standard natos. Customisable too as each one's made individually I believe.

I recently treated myself to a Doxa rubber strap, got around to fitting this aft. and having a play around.
    Black rubber on 600t
IWC style rubber on my Oris.

Both look spot on to me, Doxa rubber is very chunky though.

The perfect strap - watch combination THREAD

After a few years(!) searching - I finally found the GS rubber dive strap of legend.
Made mostly of unobtainium, plus some silicon rubber, with the same brushed and polished Ti clasp as the watch case
