Seconded. Always hilarious, even when it's one of my own goppers coming under fire.

    ...speaking of which...

Trying-out my first-ever 'Marine Nationale' style elasticated strap on the Damasko DC76.

Got this ebay cheapy as a tryout before getting an 'Erika's Original' - given their painful cost.

Aside from an annoying 'feature' of this example which means I can only use it with part of the strap between wrist and watch - I am really liking it.

These deserve their rep for comfort.

Decided to take a gamble and splash the cash on an Ericas’s MN denim strap.

Let's have a few more posts before I wade in again. But I will.

Don't hate it, but I'd want the watch on something with a cheesy 60s/70s vibe if it was me - rally-style blue leather (croc print is good) with nice big holes punched in it, or stainless steel one-piece bracelet.

Your wrist - so only your opinion matters. As a summer strap and a bit of fun why not!

    New strap for the DJ
Though it does look black, it is in fact dark blue.
    What do you think?

Yes it is. Very comfortable, would recommend them.

Still prefer it w/o TBH, sorry!

Appreciate some people like them but to me looks bit odd, like a bit of bracelet still attached.

That description is hysterical. Thank you.

I have always loved the look of them but wondered when I’d ever get to use the tools. Like you I am admiring it again and not wanting to go shopping for one.

One of the things I like about Mankey straps is that there's no strip of strap behind the head of the watch. In my experience, this helps the watch sit more securely on the wrist.

I’m a convert for nick mankey, some of the best straps around for me!
The question regarding the potential top heaviness isn’t specific to nick mankey though, I just mentioned it as it’s what the watch is on

I have half a dozen Nick Mankey Hook straps and would have a dozen more if not for the 10-12 week lead time, the biggest watch on a NMD is a Tudor Bronze on a 24mm strap. I rarely wear it on any other strap.

Personally I didn't notice any difference in wear after adding the links. If I have the links off it again at some point I'll weigh them, but I think the weight gain is pretty minimal.

Wish they had a UK distributor, I'd definitely pick up a couple more. This one was my first and tempted to get this same strap again just to have a spare!

If I recall correctly I got this one from you

  29. #2129
Interesting - you wear your strap the opposite way round to me! I wonder who's right?

Fair enough, thank you for the info!
Hopefully they’ll make endlinks for the 58 case at some stage

Had a look at them. Nice straps but 8-10 weeks lead time is too much.

As far as I understand, he sort of is a one man business which explains that.
Personally don’t mind the delay, it’s just enough time for me to forget about the order and then to get a «*gift effect*» so to speak when to my surprise I eventually receive the package I forgot about…

The price isn’t stupidly expensive (it’s just a bit of elastic band with two bits of hardware after all), and that is the most comfortable strap in all conditions I have found (as it is softer than erika’s original straps).

Hopefully more people here buy straps from him so we can see more of it on sc

    I’d recommend these - https://www.thewatchsteward.com/

Having tried both, the NM loop keeps disappearing which can be fiddly whereas these have similar hardware to MN straps.

My new DJ is the only watch I’ve ever owned that I can’t find a strap for that it looks even half decent on. So it’s staying on the bracelet

Surprised me because I always without fail change straps on watches.

The AK seems to work on a nato.

Love this watch, and even better seeing it on something other than a boring, predictable bracelet ;-)

How about one of these from Watchgecko?

Been experimenting with cheap curved-end straps for my Sinn U1 following the unsuccessful purchase of a used Sinn silicone band that proved significantly shorter than claimed by the seller...

The one below appears to be based on Omega Seamaster dimensions judging by the pictures on Ebay, and proved quite impossible to fit to the Sinn until I attacked the plastic reinforcing piece at the head-end with a Dremel reamer! The final result being a decent fit that I'm really rather pleased with.

Quality is easily on par with Barton's 2-tone straps, so for £14.95 I'm rather satisfied:

Dug out my old Kemmner Turtle which hadn’t seen the light of day for years and stuck it on a MN style strap. Works well. Still can believe this was under £300 new.

I bought this PRS3LE back in 2010, and as much as I love it, I was never that happy with the standard bracelet as it doesn't taper, and for me at least, the fitted endlinks add too much heft to the watch. Over the years I've realised too that 42mm diameter is as large as I'm comfortable with.

I've tried all sorts of natos with it as well as various rubber straps and nothing really stuck, then finally decided to go back to a bracelet. I love a Jubilee so figured it was worth trying something decent. I went for this Strapcode version, and I'm glad I did! The mix of polished and brushed on the links goes well with the polished/brushed parts of the case, and the straight endlinks make it wear a bit smaller. I've had this combo for a year or two and I think they're perfect for each other!

Fiddling around today, I decided to relieve my Bulova A-15 pilot of it's Staib mesh, & give it a go on my B&M Capeland.
    Think this looks OK.

Seems almost like OEM, but I'm still trying to source a proper Capeland bracelet that I'm finding pretty elusive.

These new Octopod Straps from Zuludiver look different, an elastic strap meets a deployant. Anyone bought one yet?
