Now wondering what that strap would look like on my mbiii - pretty perfect combo
Like many other TZ Members I purchase lots of straps to try with different watches.
I picked up a new Bremont strap for my Airco last night and it suits the watch IMO "perfectly".
Hoping this thread could be a future resource if members post pictures of what they consider the perfect strap for their watch.
So I will start with my Airco and new Bremont vintage strap.

This one was perfect combination - De Ville and old double ridged croc strap
This also wasn't bad - Hamilton and Steinhart strap.
Speedy on Hirsch Viscount
Speedy on brown Omega alligator
IWC Mark XVII on IWC alligator
IWC Mark XVII on brown Di Modell
I think that this combination works rather well.
Great thread to follow - a well chosen strap makes a huge difference to a watch.
I love the Bremont combo in the first post, works really well.
My favourite combination for the BBN - a JPM Italian vintage.
Like the Smiths, and the Bremont looks good, too. I prefer Bremonts on velcro, mind, and have a few I use for non-Bremont watches. They're well made.
I've a couple of Dirk Grandry straps for my PVD Panerai, and I feel they're a good suit.
X33 on Sinn rubber, use an omega deployment.

This one's an original V.B. Hygienique, not a Rev-O repro (for images open the link in Chrome with the 'Photobucket Hotlink Fix' extension).
Here's one from the Rev's first batch of re-made DEF-3/A.F.0210/Type 37 pattern straps, and rather good it is too.
Always liked this tatty old combo
.. & this for smarter occasions

I put my PO 8500 on a black/black Hirsch Leonardo for a recent holiday. I didn't do diver on leather but the Leonardo is virtually grain less and is water resistant also, I think it looks very good.
Pics to follow.
Oh...I was just experimenting with straps on my Panerai the other day... the best:

I have tried a few leather straps and the OEM sail cloth that all were fine on the LLD, but never perfect. I also have tried lots of pull throughs, but it took me until a month ago to try a perlon... I had a feeling it might work and it really nails it! This is just a £6 job from Ebay and really does work a treat for me - the texture adds to it but doesn't add more clutter.
I think the new OEM mesh that now comes on the LLD probably makes it all seem to shiny!
What straps are people using on their Subs? Interested to see what works/doesn't, particularly on a LV.
Cheers
I like my Sinn 103 Ti on this Hadley Roma Kelvar strap.
This vintage Toshi is the strap I keep on coming back to on this 1941 Fliegerchronograph.
And another Toshi for a watch long gone - the blue stitching catches the blue in the hands.
It was the fleck in this one matching the lume on the hands that really got me started on Donegal tweed as a material.
I had planned a light grey or orange rubber for this 'Zimbe' mod, but from the moment I tried this leather Zuludiver nato on it I just can't imagine it on anything that suits it more.

Crikey Chief!
There are only about 3 combinations on the thread so far that I’d even consider
It's just a matter of time...
Only way to do it with an skx if you ask me!

This combo seems to get positive comments...
And I always think an 806 looks good on a lizard skin strap...
Some of these look good but really not a fan of big gaps between the strap ends and the watch case.
Straps should be 'understated' and let the watch 'stand out'...... not the other way around.
I always like this combo for the summer.

I once had a watch which had a particularly shiny sunburst silver dial, complete with grooved subdial, surrounded by quite a thick bezel, the entire case polished. The whole effect was very eye-catching. A thick glossy oxblood strap, similarly characterful, complemented it perfectly, giving it balance a more typical strap couldn't have.
Some more of my favourites.....
Omega PO on OEM vintage isofrane
Breitling Aerospace on Pro III
Bremont Solo on vintage brown
Bremont Solo on Hirsch
Omega AT8500 (38.5mm) on OEM black alligator
Tudor heritage monte carlo on a strapsco cream camo suede strap

Haven’t captured the colour very well but yellow dial on blue rubber nato is a combo I won’t change on this one

Inspired by the Haveston Carrier Strap on this thread - and got one for my Evant.
