I think it needs a blue leather strap instead of rubber

Quite happy with this combo. Tricky to find something that looked good and was 22mm at the lugs but 18mm at the buckle...

You are the 2nd person to mention that.

Does anyone know if you can get the end links to match the lugs to go with said leather/croc/alligator straps?

Yes, these are available. I think I have a link (no pun intended) but I’m on an iPad, will look later when I’m on the Mac.

Edit. These are what I found when I was considering some for my Datejust. Doubtless there'll be others, and doubtless a lot more expensive too!

    Thank you for the link.

    I have emailed them.

    The perfect combo!
Unlike a lot of combinations on this thread that one actually looks really good…

I've been drinking so I'll answer!

On this page, there are two objectively bad straps, three good straps and one that I can't decide on.

Topcat30093 is a mess - a sports strap on what's ostensibly a dress watch. A rubber strap, no less? Sure, let me wear my wellies with my suit.

    gunner's Eterna is great.

neebsta - Panerais don't work on NATOs. They just don't. Panerai owners (and God knows I'm one) will spend as much on straps as they do on the watch, and Panerai know this, of course, but I've not seen a Luminor on nylon that didn't look like a dog's dinner.

RustyBin5 - spot on. That's how you do it.

ped - the jury's still out.

leo1790 - that Omega looks good. I mean, it's a "seatbelt" NATO, but it just scrapes over the bar.

Honestly, I've stuck my oar in a couple of times here with my half-assed criticisms, and most of the time I'm offended that the most milquetoast or left-field straps are considered "perfect".

The only perfect strap on this page is RustyBin5's Tudor. Excellent colour matching, and it's the right (sporty) strap for a sporty watch.

And ped, I've changed my mind. *Family Fortunes me-meh noise*

    Combos

I struggled a bit when I got my Caribbean, I'm not a great bracelet fan, preferring rubber straps or others, so when I tried this Isoswiss, I thought it really suited it and comfy too.

I rarely find bracelets comfortable either, and rubber always seems to make the most sense on anything but a dress/office only watch. Nice find.

    That works
I did similar on my blue Caribbean when I had it. I bought a zulu diver tropic, it was much more comfortable and the colour matched the dial better than the supplied rubber. The watch is made for a rubber strap IMO.

After going round the houses I finally took the advice from a forum member and stuck this on a waffle strap:

Have you tried warming the strap in some hot (not boiling!) water to soften it a bit? Give you a bit of extra flexibility to work with.

That looks awesome and its WR which is an added bonus :-)

    Which Hirsch strap is it?

This is the first time I have worn this in about a year, criminal really
I think the strap and lume match perfectly.

But very practical and easy to clean when dealing with blood, vomit, diarrhoea and other bodily fluids ;-)

But I understand your point :-)

Nice - is that an ‘AF….’ strap? Keep meaning to try one on my CWC sapphire.

Thank you. Now that I know it's a Morellato I can also get them from Watchbandcenter.com (and they have a 20/16mm which is what I'm after).

No problem, they seem like decent quality - I've had Watchgecko ones before (but they're 22/20 which looks quite thick now I'm so used to the 22/18 size) and these feel more robust with better sealing etc. I'll get the other colours depending on how well I get on with this one over the next week whilst I'm away. Show us yours when it arrives!

It’s a Leatherman Tread. It’s a multi tool for the wrist and if you need to only just be able to do pretty well anything, in a novel but inconvenient way, it’s the tool for you. I lusted over the idea of it to the point that my wife bought me one. I’m sure it will eventually prove its worth, but mostly it gathers dust. It’s a fantastic idea which manages to combine every possible compromise in an inelegant but extremely robust manner. Despite knowing this, I’m still looking at the pictures and thinking how cool it looks.

A Gerber Shard, on the other hand…

I know....a bit of marmite but ...for some reasons look very nice to me
I gave up on it for a short while (travelling and not wanting to be stopped at the security check for that thing...even if it's TSA approved) but now it's back on it
I used to wear my Breitling SO Heritage 46 on it for years.
No one will see the watch but many asked about the bracelet
And it did came handy in a few circumstances
