Gotta start somewhere. Hope that 200 quid turns into something significant for Daveya down the line. I started with 4 figs, and that turned to 7 - so I guess I am allowed to talk in this thread?

Yup, it's crazy and so ridiculous in a way. Just lucky to have got in early. Who knows where it will all end up? Fully prepared for it to go to zero if that turns out the case - would be a bummer mind!

Raffe, I appreciate your trading skills and strategies you freely share with us but really no one can tell what will happen in the future, but being so sure it's worthless I think is unlikely to be the case.

In any case, I do encourage people with an interest to spend a little time and try understand crypto, NFTs, and how in a way it's similar to our current financial fiat system, and social connections/values. Happy to share more if anyone cares.

I'm small fry, I'm not messing with the SIPP, that stays with experts

All I've done is stick my slush fund , 10k into a portfolio of shitters hoping to get rich, and a couple of grand trying to mine our way to riches , tbh, it's based on nothing but a wing and a prayer. Apart from Raven which I think is a great concept

6.69 ETH weren't $25k in August but closer to $20k - and I call BS on that offer as the only other time this pic has ever traded was on 22 August (4 days earlier) when you bought it for 0.05 ETH = $150 at the time.

No problem with your optimistic view of all things crypto, at least you seem to put some money to work to turn your conviction into something.

None of us knows what's going to happen and the market is crazy in a way that none of us has ever seen before, so obviously anything is possible. Doesn't change the fact that I still don't see a single good use case for crypto (if you exclude blackmailing, drug trading and creation of funny or not-so-funny gifs) that justifies any of the mania. That hasn't kept me from trading bitcoin both long and short, I am for obvious reasons a bit careful with long positions but I have made money on both sides.

I appreciate your input, the bragging not so much.

This is the classic FUD most people have come across the regular press. For me, getting into crypto has made me question a lot of how the current financial, political, power system we live in works and it's very intriguing. FWIW, I just think crypto has huge potential to disrupt and those opposing it would of course try all they can to stop it, as they would stand to lose the most.

    Ha! Bragging.. pot kettle black

If you can’t beat them, join them; I switched £100 of ETH into SHIB so I’m down about half of what you are.

But hey, I’ve got nearly 1.8 million of the things!

Yup hindsight 20/20 always. But since I got it for 0.05ETH it's no biggie. Feel sorry for the guys that paid 10ETH for theirs though now that the floor tanked.. but that's the risk with these projects, and why I would caution anyone trying now.

Floor is still higher than mint, so I can definitely get back more but I just prefer to hodl.

I don’t really get the NFT thing yet, but my new year resolution is to find out and start looking for new crypto projects to get into. My hands have been a little tied this year (can’t invest any money as I’m trying to get a mortgage) but next year it’s off to the races!

I'm also looking to learn more about NFTs and I bumped into a family member the other day who has started trading them. Will start looking into the Cardano ones I think as more affordable.

Facebook has changed its name to Meta today so the future is clearly all about the metaverse! I read this earlier which I thought was an interesting piece about why NFTs are becoming popular

Looks like a "fat finger" trading accident, must have cost millions for the trader who did it and for many others.

These things happen, but the huge amplitude says something about the true liquidity in bitcoin, which is outright worrying.

I read it's more whales forcing down the price hunting for leveraged long stop losses that cascade. It's a way to pick up 'cheap' bitcoin from forced liquidations. These sorts of activities happen a lot so just need to be aware of the many games that go on.

Either way, the lack of liquidity is a concern. And that we will never know what caused it.

If this was a regulated exchange, the SEC would look into this and there was a 100 page paper available about what happened and if there are any needs to improve the system - before trading starts today.

Cardano needs a working Dex to launch to get momentum going again, it will happen.

Eth will pump in a big way before Ada though in my opinion.

I'm not changing my Eth or Ada position and hold both

    Congratulations.

Pro tip: don't blow it tonight, if you want a worry-free future you'll need to compound your winnings. I know it's hard, but it's true.
