I have just started investing in cryptos so do your own research.
This one seems to be going well now.
Still for a long hold, but the progress has been great so far.

I’ve been in and out of Telcoin since a couple of people we deal with made silly money on it (think they had something like a 10,000% gain). Bought some more recently giving me a good average low price and just waiting for it to go to the moon which I’m assured it will very soon.

Someone in a private whale group on Twitter told me so it must be fact

Madness doesn't begin to describe it.

Who is buying this POS and why?

If you put $1,000 into Shiba in March, it is worth $1,5 mio today. No words.

Ryoshi has built an entire ecosystem on top of Shiba. It has a lot more to offer than many of the other mainstream alts. Hence why it’s been gaining a lot of traction lately.

It certainly does not have zero value.

    https://shibaswap.com/

Their white paper lays it all out in detail. Shiba makes doge look entirely hollow, which it still is.

    What a pile of dogshite.

Shibaswap is an exchange which has been built with the sole purpose to increase the value of the Shiba coin and its poo derivatives LEASH and BONE. Outside of that, it is a zero.

Hindsight is the best asset manager. Completely irrelevant.

How do you make money tomorrow, that is the only question that is worth asking.

You want to trade Shiba? Go ahead. Tell me how it went.

Fair play and congratulations if you are still holding.

My point is that most people talking about crypto invest insignificant amounts and even if they end up picking the right coin, end up taking profit long before it turns into anything of significance. This thread is full of people saying that they once upon a time owned a few bitcoins but none of those still have them.

What's the point of buying 100 quid worth if you are selling when it hits 150? Just for the bragging rights?

If you have conviction, put the money to work. If you are just playing with pocket money, stfu.

Bit harsh to tell people to stfu just because they are small player in the game.

Nothing wrong with dipping a toe in the crypto water while asking more about it to become better informed. Putting a large chunk of your savings in blind to put it to work would seem very reckless.

Cannot hear the bs anymore from people telling me 'have fun staying poor' because they put 100 quid into some coin or other.

As I said fair game if you really leave it there like FFF, but most are just buying and selling and are displaying the exact opposite of the conviction they are talking about.

I am trading with the intention of making a few thousand every day or week, couldn't care less if bitcoin goes to the moon or not in the trading portfolio. I am sometimes long and sometimes short and most of the time I have no position. But what I am convinced of is that crypto has zero intrinsic value, hence I am definitely not buying crypto in the long-term portfolio. If I thought that it was about to go to the moon, I had a 30% or higher allocation to it and wouldn't gamble with 100 quid.

If this is indeed a life-changing opportunities, what are you waiting for? Those don't come around often, better jump when you see them.

A young lad I know, who I've mentioned before, is buying up chunks of nearly every new coin he can find

Does a lot of research to ensure it's not an absolute con

He's up 10x last time I was talking to him

Personally I don't have the time, but there is an argument for throwing £1000 into everything, you only need one to go 'Shiba'

Yes that's the approach I mean. If you think it's life-changing, invest time and money and get a chance to reap it. Wishing him luck, I have respect for that.

Just throwing a thousand at any new project without any research on the other side....

Yes it's pure hit and hope, it's why we mine, to try and mine coins over a few years and hope one goes ballistic . It's also a technical exercise that engages the brain so it has some value to retired guys wanting something new to do, that's probably worth more than the coins themselves.

Everything else is just gambling, it's not investing when you just drop 1k into things, it's no different to horse racing, those fanatics probably do more research than crypto kids.

    Good luck to them though

Was observing that others comments were bothering you - nothing more. Never said it influenced you. I only have a couple of thousand £ in crypto as a medium term thing. I don’t have the knowledge to do short and long position day trading. In fact it terrifies me.

Consensus seems to be that this is the creator of Shiba. If he ever liquidated, it will destroy the price as the exchange algo assumes these coins are not in circulation (I am sure Mr. Noble can explain as he has read the whitepaper?).

Raffe is correct - last August, that $8000 "purchase" of Shiba would have represented about 15-20% of all the Shiba in existence. So most likely it's one of the creators own holdings and represents some of the float which cannot really be cashed in. (Well, it could be cashed in, but it would instantly kill Shiba)
