I don't really understand it but it sounds like one of the surest ways to lose a lot of money that I've ever heard of

Exactly a year on (& >1300 posts later) my opinion hasn't changed.

I remembered one particular bit of wisdom just now that someone posted early in 2018. Someone (can't remember who) was saying something along the lines that bitcoin always loses a bit in January but then it'll take off towards the moon thereafter.

You always say these things to bring fresh people into the market to drive the rise. Ponzi scheme mostly. Alternative currency on a miniscule scale.

Reading back, the claims of our resident hypers were outrageous in January.

One predicted Etherum to be at least £2000 by year end and another slightly more bold advocate thought that was being too cautious and reckoned £5000.

Around $100 now.

Still, another three weeks or so until year end. There might be a rally.

I'm going to get out of this thread as it seems no place for a double espresso drinker.

Before I go I will just clue you in on the next big thing in trading currencies. It will be the "allotment grown vegetable". You lads and lassies who like a punt on this sort of cutting edge stuff should get in this now while it's still a grass roots movement. I does not rely on block-chain but the much more subtle and energy efficient device known as "spoilage". This ensures an amount of the currency is automatically devalued and if it's not "eaten while fresh" and thus fulfilling it's primary purpose. However there is a sort of safety parachute to recover some of the value from "spoilage", this is know as "compost" which can be used as a sort of seed capital to create more "allotment grown vegetables". Once you are into this new currency you'll need to learn how "trimmings" can also be made into "compost" to create even more "allotment grown vegetables".

Don't bother searching the internet, this is all dark web stuff controlled by "mulchers". You will find a strange vocabulary designed to mystify the ordinary folk, words such as dibber, rotovator, and phrases such as "pricking out". Do watch out for "seasonality" though and pay attention to "rainfall" which can totally crash "allotment grown vegetables" or cause an oversupply (technical term is glut) which destroys the value unless you understand the technique known as "preserving".

Very disappointing price action indeed. The lack of upside momentum was stunning in the last correction already, looks even weaker now. If it drops below 3000 there is no hope for the bulls....

Isn't it simply unbelievable? Thousands of punters are firm in their view that all banks are crooks and then quickly throw their money at a one-person-show with zero oversight, four-eyes principle or procedures.

You'd think that due diligence has never been easier than in the times of the internet, all info is there to see and digest - but it appears that most people are doing less sanity checks than ever before. Apparently it's good enough if somebody on Facebook tells you that this is where you should put your money?

I don't even feel sorry for them, such monumental stupidity deserves whatever comes of this.
