Of course. Could go to 100$ or 1$

There’s a lot of hype in that particular space right now, so I’m happy with a little profit

The other thing is that last time it dropped everything felt very similar but on a smaller scale. I was looking around then thinking who hasn't invested it Crypto at the minute. Morons from school shilling awful coins that they no nothing about.
Both points sound familiar, it’s a fun game but you are ultimately being paid for the time you spend paying attention to it all - the time you spend on apps watching prices, the time you spend researching it, as well as for the quality of your decisions and your feeling for the psychology of the market, and these skills also take time to develop. In other words, it’s a job, paying attention to the market in order to collectively decide the correct price. Now that’s fine as long as you’re finding it interesting, are addicted to the gambling aspect, or are doing really well. But when you’re checking your phone first thing in the morning and last thing at night to see if your limit order got filled, you have to wonder if it’s a fun job.

I sold the lot when I was pleasantly ahead, as I got freaked out that everyone I spoke to who had zero financial or crypto knowledge was telling me they’d bought in to make a quick buck. When I pointed out that Bitcoin was only worth something for as long as people believed it was, they would all stoke their chins and repeat the exactly same phrase: ‘But it’s a store of value’. Yes, because you believe it is. ETH and others seem more genuinely useful but their price is still driven by Bitcoin. I sold my ETH and a few others a bit too soon of course, but it’s now below that level, and some of the other coins have dropped like a stone since then. I’d be happy to go in again but I’d start small, it wasn’t a huge amount but it had gone up to more than I felt like losing. It began to feel stressful and distracting, I’d rather be looking at watches.

Well CLOV is only about $3 away from its ultimate target, so I'd say you have most of the journey with that stock behind you.

    Did you enjoy the ride?

Coming up: Argo Blockchain and MicroStrategy.

Useful to know. Have you been in touch with Micheal Lewis yet to make sure your inside scoop is in the book?

There are a lot of garbage cryptos, if there is a shakeout in 22 that’s good for the market as a whole imo, that said, doggo money is probably a better medium of exchange than 1/3rd of all the worlds currencies.

People who think crypto will fail, be forgotten about and never return probably also thought telephone box repairman was a job for life.

People who think crypto will prevail probably also thought Pets.com and CMGI were good investments that would eventually change the world.

I need ETH to fall slower than bitcoin. I bet that the ETH marketcap will be larger that BTC's marketcap before 30 June. My idea was that bitcoin suffers complete collapse and ETH not quite. So far, ETH has fallen more than bitcoin since we bet.

Really? Very unlikely imho. Much more likely that ETH will collapse with their insane 2.0 plans.

£50 from me to the fundraiser if ETH’s market cap exceeds BTC’s (using say Coinmarketcap as the source)?

Assuming the same from you if wrong then yes of course.

Edited to say: sorry missed the date - same June 30th?

I already have that bet on, one of seven charity bets for a total of 350 quid that I am engaged in. That'll do from my side.

Anytime between today and 31 December is the bet between Sean and myself: https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...=1#post5905562

Hmm, so you are simply suggesting I pay up £50 if I'm wrong? With no counterparty?

Regarding your seven bets I would judge you will win: 2., 4. and 5.; I don't think you'll win 1. and I'm not sure how 6. is going to be scored, how does over/under work when it's a binary outcome? I have no view on bets 3. or 7.

Well if you don't want to put your money where your mouth is then just leave it.

I have no problem "putting my money where my mouth is" I just wanted to ensure that I understood correctly what you were proposing. I'm not sure a one way bet is very interesting but I'll stand by it.

Well, my fundamental problem is that implementing PoS to a coin that is already highly centralised and largely controlled by a small number of individuals, will simply cement and extend that centralisation.

Secondly progress seems to be glacially slow with no assurance that they will actually achieve their stated objectives.

There's even a commitment to PoS as far back as the original White Paper, eight years ago.

"Note that in the future, it is likely that Ethereum will switch to a proof-of-stake model..."

Perhaps it will turn out to be a software equivalent of GaAs, tomorrow's technology - and always will be.
