It’s cause I can only go long.

I wonder if MicroStrategy has bought any more Bitcoin with the $500m yet?

He usually buys as soon as the cash lands and tweets it out immediately.

Maybe he’s finally learned that laddering it in is wiser.

Love to know your percentage gain currently. Know nothing about short & long until your posts & reading up on the theory, I enjoy seeing experts work in their fields whether it repair shop type skills or trading

The room where the pizzas are going seems to get bigger all the time. I think I took on almost 10kg over the last year.

Because I think we will see a complete blowup of the tether scam. It regulatory action against fake stablecoins. Or both.

But wouldn't that pull down BTC?

What is the significance of the June date?

That's exactly my case: I am short BTC and am waiting for the blowup.

June? Just because I think it's imminent. No inside knowledge, just trying to hear the grass grow.

    It'll hit $28k then moon.

(According to people far cleverer than I)

I imagine the very fact that so many people seem to be expecting this to happen, may well mean it will.
Everyone and their dogs will be buying the dip at $28,500.

So many dips waiting to be bought today: BTC, DOGE, ETH, MicroStrategy, Argo Blockchain, RIOT, MARA.

How does one allocate capital between all those life-changing opportunities on their way to one moon or another?

And how does buying-the-dip work in the first place after everybody stated that they are fully invested in crypto anyway?

As I'm useless I'd trading, my 'buying the dip' would end up buying the peak

Well, at the time of his buying it was the dip. it just dipped a bit further since. Plenty of space underneath for some more dips.

Rumour has it that Micky Saylor is currently negotiating terms for another bond. I doubt he will find any more crazy investors to lend him money, but after all it's 2021 and there is an idiot at every street corner.

What ya guess - interest rate >10% this time?

I am short MSTR stock and hope he borrows more because I want the stock at zero. And if he does issue another crypto bond, it will go to zero.

He’s a nasty shorter. The ones we love to hate. The market wreckers. The bringers of doom.

some say the market wouldn’t function without them.

On a serious point…..if you’re short a stock and it does go to zero, presumably you lose everything too?

Would it not also be impossible (or very hard) to find a buyer for your short stock if the company was expected to go to zero?

If your short you have to give the stock back at some point. If it goes to zero presumably you never have to pay it back ?

    You drunk?

Why would I need a buyer if I am the one who is short?

If the stock gets cancelled, I don't need to buy it back. If it doesn't, I can buy it for the pennies it will trade at. I win either way, it is the ultimate best possible outcome for my shorting trade.

I never thought I’d become so fascinated with shorting stock positions, this thread is a real eye opener, that plus all the general crypto stuff, it’s still mad to me something with zero intrinsic value can make so much money

I was thinking that the value of your short trade would only be numbers on a screen until it’s complete, with the stock bought (sold) back and the original stock lender reimbursed. If that couldn’t happen due to the company going bankrupt then the money on your screen cannot be realised.

Obviously I’m wrong, as usual. My brain hurts.

Platform dependant, but I imagine Raffe pays a few cents per trade

Even for the occasional user, it isn't expensive

Doge must be worth a punt at 0.17? Only takes one tweet from his lordship to send it flying
