    Entire Collection Stolen

    Hello All,

I'm extremely sad, even heart broken, to say that on Weds 20th Sept my home was burgled and my entire collection of watches were stolen from the Essex area.

I'd be very appreciative if eyes were kept open for any items that may appear to be from this trove (although even this is only a partial catalogue of what the ****s got away with):

    http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...-from-a-lurker

    Many thanks in advance...

I am very sorry to hear that. The PB pictures in the thread are now dead links unfortunately. It may be worth you uploading them to Imgur or similar and reposting the links so we can be on the lookout.

Sorry that this happened to you
Just a heads up the photos in the thread you have linked to are not showing for me

Thanks all, haven't used PB for a while - didn't realise you could no longer share images stored there on forums? Toerags.

Thankfully, no one was hurt, which is the main thing.

Will try and repost images later.

    Thanks again.

Presumably this is for us, the viewer, rather than the OP?

The snake is right, it works, well played. Some of those are quite unusual and rare. It may be worth listing the stolen items in the lost and stolen area on here as they will be easier for someone to chance across if they are offered an selection of these.

Thanks Padders, will do once I sort the image hosting out. Sadly, the LLD was yours...and one of my faves...sorry....

I've only just got my head in to the place to start thinking about listing all that's gone. Complete and utter a*******s.

Sorry to hear about this. Makes my blood boil when things like this happen. Hope they catch the gits that carried this out and you get your collection back. As others have said just glad that nobody got hurt.

Sorry to hear this Krispy. I hope the scabby bastards get what's coming to them.

Regarding PB images. The fix works in Firefox as well:

Oh mate, am so sorry to hear that, and obviously not because it was formerly mine. I have been there so understand a little of what you are feeling. It will be painful to go over it but it may help you to move forward to list them and there is of course a slim chance it may lead to apprehension of the scrotes responsible

    I thought so. Jesus.

Were you out at the time? I always think it would be worse if you were actually in while they were creeping round. Horrible thing to happen

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I wasn't in at the time so had to walk into after a days work. Part of me is glad I wasn't in and part of me really wishes I was. It was just the cat indoors and, thankfully, she made it unscathed - even if she does hide behind the fridge now every time she hears the door go.

And it doesn't look like much creeping was going on. Ransacked would be putting it mildly.

Really sorry to hear the Krispy. Horrible when this happens.

I know it won't fix it totally but hopefully they were all fully insured.

I had something similar a few years back. Whilst most stuff can be replaced, the feeling of someone inside your house took a bit longer to shift... (although after a while it does)

Oh dear, that's terrible and im very sorry to read this.
I'm sure it's not just the financial loss but all the memories that might go with them ? As a newbie I realise the history that can build up with a collection.

With out stating the obvious is there any learning from your loss that you could share with us to try and help similar stopping to others ? ( I hope that comes across ok ! )

Were any of the RLT's numbered limited editions? Not the most common brand in the world, so might be the best ones to kep an eye out for as a clue to tracking them down. Sorry to hear about this, always loved your IWC

Absolutely - everyone had a story, all the way back to the one my parents got me for my 18th.

The biggest and most obvious lesson is to not assume this will never happen to you. Plan your security on the assumption it will do and don't cut expenses on whatever measures are required.

sorry this has happened again in Essex.

I was broken in to a few years ago. All they stole was the watch boxes and papers of course. Luckily mine were in the safe. Big hassle getting new boxes and papers though. Please list some pictures of your lost ones. You never know.

Sorry for your loss and good luck recovering any losses, it makes me question it when these things happen and the validity of sharing pics and the likes on public domains incase you was targeted

Krispy, I'm very sorry to hear about your stolen collection. I hope the police successfully track down the criminals and they receive their just deserts!
Some may well be replaceable but the history which accompanies with our watches, as we know, is important too!

I'm sorry to hear about your encounter with these scum! It would be one of my nightmares, having my personal space interferred with, and losing my watches.
It's just a matter of time...

I'm really sorry to read about your news. What a horrible thing to happen. All the work and effort you put into building your collection and some little scumbag just takes it away.
    Let's hope they catch him.

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. I had contents insurance, but the jewelry and watches limit didn't cover my collection. Was absolutely gutted, and only recently began rebuilding by collection. Really beefed up home security now, but did not like the feeling of having my personal space invaded.

    My sincerest condolences.

I hate burglary. Really sorry to hear this and hope they are caught . With your collection being too a non collector/ in this case robbing rats- “odd seiko” watches won’t even register to them what they are. Total cretins . As mentioned good there was no physical altercations or violence.

    Really sorry to hear that.

Here's what I saw in my local Watches of Switzerland today - the expensive pieces in the window had their own anti-theft cables!

A very sad state of affairs.

Given the collection has quite a few unusual watches. Set up Google Alerts for new postings about them. The same for Ebay and Gumtree listings.
